Epworth is a horrible hospital. When I had surgery on my back they had to put a 2nd mattress on my bed because the mattress was so thin i couldn't lie on it. They nearly overdosed me with a blood thinner and my dr told me they 'had a real problem' with this particular drug and overdoses! The tv's don't work properly, the food is inedible and the nursing staff are just plain lazy. Think twice before you go there - they seem to have plenty of money for advertising and not much left to provide for the patients.

Problems in theatre with lack of equipment which (while I was unaware!) blew out surgury time x 3 nearly. Also asked $500 above no gap fund for 'premium hospital. Keeping private health cover whe on aged pension not easy but do so to try to get better outcomes i had thin mattress too in addition to room overheating. Best though was allergy to drug for which wearing red band. So they bring a derivative of same - for days! So had panadol for knee replacement No response to complaint - I was not worth bothering about obviously.
