Lost my leg thanks to this and overrun system which Gaslight patients and treats people in chronic pain like they are less than a dog on the street. If you want to come out worse than you walked in, I would highly recommend this place. It’s worse than a third world country hospital system. I got better treatment in Thailand. The saddest part is they could’ve saved my leg. Thanks to them. my life is ruined.

My mother was taken into the this hospital for SEVERE back pain (possibly a kidney stone, we still don’t know). After having the paramedics at our apartment all day they took her to hospital to get some morphine for how bad the pain was. They even put the cannula in before she got there. The day shift nurses and drs were good apart from one of them not even believing her or giving her any pain medication she was crying out for hours. The night staff were a whole different story they. None of them believed her about her pain, she was there for 10 hours and only 1 nurse offered her pain relief. After 11 hours of doing nothing they sent her home (she was still barley walking) and told her to take panadol and nurofen. She said she felt completely judged and ignored by almost every nurse and doctor. One particular nurse just kept sighing at everything she said (I think they thought she was faking it for pain meds) she didn’t even end up getting any proper pain meds

Horrible staff, having complications with my pregnancy and they told me to get over myself. They do not care for their patients

I can’t praise my experience at this hospital, highly enough. I was taken straight in when arriving at the Emergency Department. My heart was in Atrial fibrillation. The wonderful Canadian Dr and the lovely female Dr, along with 4 nurses, we’re so kind. They all introduced themselves and informed me of everything they were doing. I ended up staying overnight. Yes, the food is not very good, but the care was exceptional. Well done Gosford Hospital !!

I have lost count the number of times I’ve had to bring my son in for stitches . The staff are always under the pump yet they are always amazing and reassuring .

Reading the comments below for the last couple of months it seem lack of care is happening probably due staff shortages If you have a loved one in Gosford hospital try be by there by there side as much possible and help care for them as much as possible. Some of nurses are exceptional alot cant seem to do their job Lack of empathy and neglect in caring for patients.

This websites rating system is terribly flawed. The star system gets skewed by having several things to rate on, I can see people below who have awful things to say about the hospital and yet, your system gives the hospital a 4 star rating. I imagine this is on purpose because otherwise there is NO WAY that Gosford Hospital would get 3 and a half stars as a total rating. Even patient advocates I have spoken to have told me that they would be wasting their time trying to get anything done there. Today is just another in a long line of 3rd world experiences I have had at Gosford Hospital. My father, who is only days away from succumbing to an awful cancer, which has wasted him away to a skeleton, rang me in distress because he had been left to lie in his own excrement for over an hour!!!! Here's some of my previous experiences: My mother-in-law was sent home on 2 separate occasions, without them finding the broken bone that she had each time. My Mother was left in a room by herself and given no attention. I was told this was because she had a DNR. I had to explain the difference to a nurse between not resuscitating someone and providing a simple drip to re-hydrate her. My Mother lived for several years after this, precious years that this incompetence could have robbed us of. It is beyond not good enough and this website is not going to help make it any better by fudging the numbers.

Although the wait in Gosford hospital was very long I waited 3 days for surgery. Despite that, I just wanted to make a special mention , I was in the GAP “ward” and Faye was amazing she was always so nice and helpful she treated you like a real person and she was a delight to be treated by.

My mum is in there for several medical complaints two weeks now and been in tears got verbally abused today in tears just because the nurse had a bad shift or whatever not my mums fault you do not yell at your elderly sick confused elderly patients or leave them in chairs for nine hours in pain …. I'm so pissed off you would not treat your mother like this . Thank god there's also nice kind understanding nurses too . I know they are under pressure and overworked underpaid but be kind I'm so upset my mum was brought to tears so many times I think she would be better off els we're next time not happy …. 🥲😭🙏
