I Highly recommend TMH, I went to the Hospital and from walking into Emergency only waited a half hour to be called into Emergency(including Triage and patient services) . The Doctor was very thorough and found that I had been misdiagnosed by a Doctor in Belleville, I had a ruptured appendix and his thoroughness and fast acting probably saved my life. The nurses were also very attentive and looked after me.

First of all, the nurses here are terrific which is why it get two stars. Friendly and great bedside manner. Now for the negatives. If you need stitches, TMH is fine. But anything more complicated is a no go. I went in with a multitude of mostly flu like symptoms plus conjunctivitis. The doctor never looked closely at my eyes (satisfied my optometrist did earlier in the week), never looked in my ears or throat. He did blood work, urine test, poked around my abdomen, sent me for an abdominal scan and chest XRay. None of my complaints were for my chest. When I got back from the x-ray, I asked a nurse for tylonal. She gave it to me and informed me that the doctor had already talked to me (he hadn't and refused when she pressed him) and discharged me. No diagnosis, just gave up and assumed it was my period. The next day I went to Northumberland Hills When I saw a doctor, he instantly diagnosed with tonsillitis and a possible viral infection. He also offered an ophthalmologist referral for my eye. This is less horrifying than what they did to my toddler. For MONTHS they told me the bump on his neck was a "normal" swollen lymph node. They did an ultrasound and tried some low level antibiotics but refused to do blood work because - and they said this directly - they didn't want to go through the effort with a toddler if they didn't have to. Again, I got fed up and went to Northumberland Hills. That set things in motion and they got us the referrals we needed. Within 24 hours we were in KGH and, long story short, he needed surgery, months of antibiotics, and 2 specialists. I took images of the growing bump throughout and they are now in medical lectures at Queen's.

I use to support TMH but not now. My senior mother was sent by ambulance after a fall. Paramedics were very lackadaisical in their assessment to start with. 5 hour wait at hospital. Dr exam was a blood test and a prescription for a uti. Turns out her hip was smashed, had to be reconstructed and pinned. She is now in a wheel chair. Guess we interrupted morning coffee. If you can't put the effort into your jobs get out. We have enough bandaid stations in town as it is.

Doctor made ambulance bill over $200 saying I wasted their time although I wasn’t better till I threw up in the ambulance. I asked rude staff if the hospital got some of that money since it was fishy and she couldn’t say no. Clammed right up then waved entire charge. Bunch of bullies just trying to keep hospital open so they can have jobs where they can chat all day.

Trenton Hospital has a very comfortable homelike atmosphere. The staff are congenial, the volunteers are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is quiet comfortable and in many ways tranquil. My experience has been excellent.
