I've been a patient at NYGH for the last two years since my cancer diagnosis. I have been in and out of emerg numerous times but have never been treated so badly as I was few days ago. Dr Hellman proved himself very unprofessional in silently iindicating he didnt want to treat me for whatever ailment I had gone.there.... NYGH is the best hospital and the rest of.the staff is amazing but I was very sad at this 'great' doctor's attitude I have given him one star but he doesn't.t deserve that .

Hard working guy. Figured out my diagnosis right away and reassured me very well. You’re lucky if you get this guy if you need to go the the emergency.

Really liked him when he was my doctor. Unfortunately he shut down his family practice to work exclusively in emerg I believe. I quite miss him, he was an excellent doctor. Appointments were always on-time yet not rushed. Been looking for a replacement for him since he left but it’s hard to find anyone satisfactory.

Dr. Helman was the doctor on call for my son in the emergency room at North York General. His bedside manner is excellent, reassuring, and he is friendly, kind, and patient with questions. He tries to put patients and their family at ease.
