Charles is a very kind, caring person. He is also an esteemed colleague of mine. I value his medical option and trust him very much.

Took the time to explain to me clearly what was happening. Appreciate his calm demeanour and bedside manner.

My husband was in the emergency at Rockyview hospital for a open fracture to his hand that he got at work. Not only was it chaotic and unorganized but no one bothered to clean the wound. The ortho tech asked if he (Dr Wong) was going to clean it and he said “you can” to the doctor. The ortho tech told him its his job and instead Dr. Wong told my husband to go wash his hands with soap and water. Since when is this best practice for a open hand fracture? After saying that he will need to take antibiotics as its at risk for infection…. he couldn’t be bothered to clean it properly.
Another thing is that since it happened at work there was workers comp forms that needed to be filled out however they were not filled out correctly.
I picked my husband up from work right after the injury happened and drove him to the hospital the same day but Dr Wong wrote on the paper that he didn’t go into the hospital until the next day and also wrote on there that he is able to work, with no restrictions or decreased hours.
How does a mechanic work with no modifications with one hand? That is like telling a surgeon he is okay to still perform surgery.
So because Dr. Wong didn’t fill out the paper work properly my husband is losing pay.
The splint was also way too tight and there is now numbness and tingling to my husbands wrist and thumb that will be getting further assessed. I will say that Dr Wong did not put the splint on. It was the ortho tech but this is speaking to the rockyview emergency as a whole.
We will be putting in a formal complaint and can’t say we will choose that hospital again.
