I asked him not to divulge / record one thing I stated, he then promised not to, then later I read the records to find that he had lied to me. I can never fully trust people after this, especially doctors at that ward.

Worst psychiatrist I have ever had.
I was a patient at Alfred CYMHS and Donovan was my psychiatrist for several months. He put me on medications that I did not want to take, would not listen when I told him that the medications were making me feel worse, upped the dosages despite the fact I told him that I did not want to because of increased unwanted side effects, mis-diagnosed me, and kept my diagnoses hidden. Meetings with Donovan were always one-sided as he would not listen and often talk over me instead. He is not someone willing to listen to what you have to say and believes he knows everything about you despite never listening or letting you speak. If you try to challenge anything he says he will just consider you irrational, slap another diagnoses on you and disregard anything you have to say. He is not someone fit to work with young people or someone who should be working in mental health at all.

I’m not that young and have had a number of psychiatrists in my time. Dr. Moncur treated me in the past and was hands down the best doctor I’ve ever had. I could not praise him enough. If you have him as a doctor then you will be very lucky indeed. He is an outstanding doctor.

It has never been easy for me to ask for help. I was in a very bad place where there were no other options left. I am very lucky that I found Dr Moncur at this time. He helped me find my way back.

I found Donovan to be an excellent psychiatrist. He listened to what I had to say which was what I needed.
