I had an appointment with him after 1 year wait time. Dr. Randal was very very helpful with his advice and knowledge. He is very polite too, I had appointment but i waited 3 hours. It’s really ridiculous. The receptionist didn’t have all my file , we had to call my family doctor. She was rude with me and not helpful at all. She pretends ignoring people … No way to ask her anything. I was scared of her… I will have a scope to see what’s wrong. ‘ll update you.

I was in a car accident and as a result most of the bones in my leg and ankles were crushed. When I arrived in emerg at the rockery view the dr’s thought they may have to amputate. They called dr Rendall and he operated and saved my leg. The nurses in the hospital said that all his operations are very successful . During the follow up visits he has been kind and compassionate and imparts a great degree of confidence in a successful outcome. He is extremely knowledgeable. The staff are very kind and very hard working. They treated me like I was a very special person. Dr Randall has always been on time for every appointment and when I have had to see him on an emerg basis he has always made himself available.

From the moment I met Dr. Ed Randall and his staff I knew I was in great hands. His primary assistant went through a full examination, as well as Dr.Randall himself. Everything related to my destroyed knees from 30+ years of soccer was explained by both, as well as all options for surgery. We elected to start the knee replacement process with the right knee and leg which was severely bowed.

The surgery at the Rockyview was on time and exactly as discussed. I was walking on the new knee within six hours of surgery. It was so weird and pleasing to look down and see a straight leg! I had no pain in the joint or incision. The staff at ward 81 of the Rockyview were the best I have ever experienced in the Calgary hospitals! Pain management was perfect.

Due to the professional preparation by the team in advance of surgery (thanks Shirley and team) I was physically able to properly walk without assistance from any aids and was well prepared at home. For those contemplating knee surgery I would highly recommend purchasing or obtaining a cooling machine for recovery. I would bring this to the hospital. The staff at Rocky were very happy to keep this filled up with ice and I believe it is infinitely more effective than the ice bags that the nursing staff are allowed to provide at the hospital. For obvious health reasons (possible infection from a shared device) the hospital does not provide cooling devices.

I had my staples out yesterday and the general staff at the Knee and Hip Clinic said that I was likely at a week four recovery stage after 13 days.

Only issue is that I am now 3/4″ taller on my right side, so need to get the left one done asap, LOL.

Amazing process and amazing team! Would highly recommend Dr. Ed Randall and his team! Excited to have my life back without pain! Half way there and have no concerns about getting the second knee done!

    Thank you so much!

awesome doctor. Very good communicator . Took the time to explain the pros and cons of surgery. Even explained the possible outcomes. Very easy to talk to. Very professional. I would highly recommend.

I saw Dr. Randall about my shoulder. I waited an hour and a half with an appt to see him, he would consult with his other employees in the next room, saying he didn’t believe my medical history, etc. He then came back into the room to state that I just needed more physio and that I needed to actually go to physio. I have been religiously going to physio and doing my excersices for over 2 years with decline in my shoulder condition compared to it helping. Got a second opinion from a different surgeon and will be having surgery to fix multiple problems. Dr. Randall was not nice to me and talked to me in a very demeaning way and even decided to give me “career counselling” advice both times I had seen him, I found that very inappropriate and rude.

I was there for two ours and fifteen minutes and gave up and left without seeing him, The receptionist didn't apologised when I left. I had to cancelled another appointment that I had at 1:30 because I was still at this clinic. The receptionist is very unhelpfull and Could be very Rude when questioned. My app. was suppose to be at 1245 and I left at 1400, hungry, frustrated and very upset.

No complaints about the front desk staff, seems alright. As for Dr. Randall I think he is very good. He fixed my ACL back in Feb and now I am recovering nicely. This was a long journey first with trying to recover without the surgery and only a knee scope. Each time I visited him he gave me the info I needed to make the decision, basically it depends on your lifestyle...he doesn't push you either way. I am quite happy with the end result and would definitely recommend him as a surgeon.
