Love Dr. Mdawe!!!! Although the pressures of being a rural doctor do come into play, ( hospital on calls , which make him occassionally late)he is a great, compassionate person who never rushes you out the door and listens to every concern! Definitely recommend him!

A few experiences over the years with Dr. Mdawe…
First one worth mentioning – a few years ago, he mistook shingles for warts. He burned the patch of shingles off me with dry ice. I seen a different doctor a week or so later and he was absolutely horrified a doctor with decades of experience thought a shingle rash was warts…….. and proceeded to burn it off a patient.
And then very recently I asked to be tested for whooping cough, after 3 weeks of constant coughing, to the point of gagging. He googled whooping cough in front of me….. and then told me he didn’t think I had it without asking me more than 2 questions. I insisted I was tested, so he swabbed me. He then proceeded to miss the vial when trying to put my swab away. Instead, he jammed my nasal swab against the palm of his hand. When he realized his mistake he did not do a new swab. But packaged the one that he had just rubbed against his hand.
To add to it, whooping cough wasn’t an option on the lab form he was filling out. So instead of getting a proper one he scrawled “whooping” across the bottom of the form barely legibly.
I left with no confidence my swab would even be tested. I called 2 days later to inquire on results. I was told they didn’t have my results yet but the doctor “didn’t think it was whooping cough cause I wasn’t puking”, despite me having told him I was in fact gagging on a nightly basis, induced by coughing.
Well, here we are 3 weeks later. Still haven’t heard about my whooping cough results. And I’m still coughing. So 6 weeks of coughing till I gag now. But alas, apparently something on google told Mdawe I’m not worth testing.
Only good thing about Dr. Mdawes practice are his nurses, whom do more for his patients in 5 minutes than he does in…welll…decades, honestly.
