Saved my eyesight, after an eye injury, so a very competent surgeon. And either via Dr. Anand, or the Rocky View Eye clinic all costs of the surgery were covered. And another credit to Dr. Anand, I was rushed into surgery. However, Dr. Anand totally disregarded my allergies to 1-2 of the eye drops – stating my symptoms were normal. Now that I can surf the internet and spoke with an allergist, my ‘normal’ symptoms to atropine were actually a severe allergy which ranged from only being able to urinate 1-2 times daily to rashes, heart palpitations and extreme pupil dilation and vision blurriness in both! eyes for 12 days after stopping the drops. Atropine is not recommended for anyone with allergies, asthma or thyroid and I have all three conditions. He is like many doctors, and appears to be very dismissive of allergies. I am very thankful that he saved my eyesight, but if my severe reaction to the Atropine damaged my kidneys or other body parts his success is greatly diminished.

DR ANAND IS WORST DOCTOR EVER. HE DOES NOT RESPECT HIS PATIENTS. I SAW HIM AT SUNRIDGE LOCATION, MY APPT. WAS AT 9.00 AM BUT MY TURN CAME AT 11.30AM WHAT A WASTAGE OF TIME. HE DID NOT EXPLAIN IN DETAIL WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY EYES. AFTER 10.00 MINTUTES HE SAID YOU NEED TO COME AGAIN IN 6 MONTHS. AND HE BOOKED MY APPT. AT ROCKY VIEW HOSPITAL I TOLD HIM THIS LOCATION IS CONVENIENT FOR ME HE SAID I WILL SEE YOU AT RGH ONLY. THIS IS VERY RUDE. I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST MY FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS TO SEE THIS DR. FOR ANY EYE COMPLICATIONS.

Unfriendly staff. Doctor has too many patients so hardly time for anyone to undertsnd the case. Poor facility with minimum equipments. Go if you are prepared to take a chance or has huge waiting somewhere else.

The doctor is knowledgeable but dumbs things down for patients and other professionals like myself. nobody loses vision because of “old age” when they haven’t ruled out any vascular risks.

Other comments truly represent his personality. Perhaps there should be regular tests to see if the doctor actually even cares about patients or is simply interested in medicine/ money. I booked an appointment but was taken in 3 hours after. Yes, three hours! Neither was he helpful nor respectful. He treats you with utmost rudeness I’ve witnessed in a while. Exceptionally poor ethics and manners ugghhh

If an opthalmologist is advertising himself as retina specialist & surgeon. As a patient your expecting that this doctor can give you the necessary treatment for your retina related cases. If hes not capable that means its a fraud or malpractice. Beware!!!!

Dr Anand is one of the top Opthomologists in Calgary. He is highly educated and truly cares and is concerned about his patients. I am lucky to have him as a doctor! He is exceptional and knows what he is doing! As a specialist and an over booked one at that, (if he is late with appointments, it is because he is saving peoples vision) he is wonderful and a just a real person, and Worth the Wait......I see him every couple of months, and would recommend him to anyone!!

It seems not very helpful doctor, its just telling To come back after 6 months for check up, if he wants To help he should refer a patient to a specialist who Can fix the eye problem.

I had a retinal detachment at the age of 29 in my only good eye (legally blind in the other from birth) and have zero “real” complaints about Dr Anand. Yeah I had some wait times but he is a specialist so it is expected. It seems like most of the complaints on here are from people who want to be treated like it’s a spa when they go to their doctor. I prefer free/subsidized health care for all then a country club hospital where only the wealthy get the proper and timely treatment like our neighbors down south. If specialists like him didn't exist we (people who have made comments) would all be living a much worse quality of life so the next time you have to wait for 1,2,3 or 4 hours just be thankful that you live in age where you can actually see an eye specialist. I would recommend Dr. Anand and I will always be grateful that he saved me from being legally blind.

I have been seeing Dr. Anand every 6 months for the last 5 years. I was diagnosed with macular degeneration at 33 and lost my vision in one eye while being shuffled from one doc to another before being referred to him. The first meeting with Dr Anand was a little abrupt and I was not fully prepared for the injection!! My vision returned after three injectons and has been stable ever since. Dr. Anand always remembers me and is always very friendly to me and the other patients. He gets to know you and asks questions. He is very busy but does take the time. He has scheduled me in last minute when I have noticed small changes in my vision and answers all my questions. I am very thankful he is my specialist .
