I found she was always running late, very little care about how you are going and only in it for the money. I leave in tears every time Because I'm so unheard

Jo is a very nice person with a good heart. I did however find that at times, she didn't appear very sure of herself.. I lost count the amount of "second opinions" I had whilst I was under her care. I did see her earlier in her the career and would assume that she is more experienced and hopefully more confident in her ability now that she wouldn't need to ask colleagues for their opinions as much as she did for me. I do appreciate the time Jo spent supporting and assisting me over the years and agree that she does relate well to young people.

I would recommend Jo to anyone - lovely gentle manner, very knowledgable , professional , understanding and helpful.

Have been seeing Jo for going on 8 years now. So knowledgeable and current with new medications and treatments. Has a very maternal vibe. Understanding and genuinely caring. Let's my baby play with her medical instrucments and change his nappy in her office, putting the nappy in the bin for me. Highly recommended!

Worst psychiatrist I have ever been to, I explained that the sertraline she was putting me on was making me worse and she refused to listen to me and I ended up having an attempt that resulted in me being in the ICU, to which at our next appt she called a cry for help due to stress about school when in reality I was suffering clinical depression and ptsd as well as an eating disorder, never felt more invalidated in my life. Definitely don’t recommend.

Dr Mc Keown is a lovely person I believe she genuinely cares despite cramming in so many patients. She connects well with her patients and my daughter really relates to her she also has a warmer vibe than most other psychiatrists I’ve come across enabling the patient to open up.

I stuck Jo for nearly 10 years because she collaborated with some of my other doctors. She was never very pleasant, always very late and showed no compassion. She made me feel belittled and sometimes gaslit. I finally cut the cord after she recommended an illegal treatment for another medical condition I have and compared me to healthy people my age, saying I should be more like them (I am chronically I’ll and disabled). Not worth it.

Dr McKeown has been seeing my son for the past nearly 9 years, I don’t know where we would be now without her, he has always been comfortable discussing things with Jo and I mean everything. Jo knows her stuff when it comes to medication and got my son on to one that was a good match. We used to drive nearly two hours to see her and the trip was worth it. I have nothing but praise for this wonderful Doctor and human.
