I'd like to set the record straight on the comments leveled at Neil by the patients he attempts to care for at the AMS Opiate Addiction Clinic at 431 King St. East, Toronto. I believe that the majority of low rating contributions to this survey are created by a few troubled patients that are vindictive, for being suitably punished for breaking existing Methadone treatment rules and guidelines set down by the College of Physicians and Surgeons. These clinics are enforced with strict guidelines and no nonsense policies, as well as testing that can be viewed by the College at any time. This has real world consequences for Dr. Beluzzo, and can destroy his reputation, not to mention have him barred from practicing medicine, and leave both his addiction patients and family practice patients deprived of a doctor. Frankly, knowing some of Neil's addiction patients personally, I understand their psychological fragility, and problems with boundary concepts. Several of the addiction patients are prone to acting out, and regardless of rules expect special treatment beyond other patients ,and don't have the emphatic ability to contemplate their actions on others. Hence the lies and unfair assessments of his abilities as a physician . Unfortunately, with the territory of Methadone treatment comes a few less than principled individuals, who attempt illicit, immoral, and unlawful procurement and sales of prescription medication, and that shines an unflattering spotlight on otherwise legitimate patients who need and appreciate the much needed help. My suggestion to people who need help from the AMS Clinic, is to realize that their is no requirement for the doctors to tolerate your unruly behavior, continued crimminal behavior, disruption of clinic activities or patients, yelling, damage to property, profanity, tantrums, violence, or defamation of character. Act like an adult, be polite, and most of all stick to the rules. I can assure you, that those three very logical considerations will keep your treatment on course, and may afford you consideration when you really need it. Personally, I have always been treated fairly and in a friendly manner during my appointments with Dr. Belluzzo . In fact I think he's fantastic, and I consider him a friend who I talk about anything with. He has a great sense of humor, and is modest and we'll grounded. I know that the good doctor has a family with two children, and is dedicated to them. He's just who you need if your looking for a doctor. You'll be impressed.

Dr. Belluzzo has been my doctor since the clinic opened & over the years of looking after my mother, father & myself, he has only improved as a family doctor. Once you get to know him he treats you like a family member & is both respectful & empathetic. I moved out of the area & live quite far from the clinic but would not even consider changing doctors, EVER!

Dr Belluzzo is an amazing, respectful, understanding, helpful, knowledgeable and a genuinely caring doctor. He investigates problems if you tell him what you are feeling. He takes the time and deals with it not like some other doctors that rushes you and simply don’t care about you. I know Dr Belluzzo for 13+ years since he started and became my doctor at Yorkview Medical Center. We lived in the area at that time and moved an hour away and still travel to the clinic to see him. I have never met anyone so understanding and a respectful doctor. Dr Belluzzo is very caring and knowledgeable, you know that he loves what he does. Thank you Dr. Belluzzo for what you do! Dr Belluzzo is one of the best Family Physician I came across. My family in India has many Doctors, but Neal is one of the best in the profession. Correct Diagnosis and very accurate prescription with least medication.

Excellent dr. Always explains things without rushing you or making you feel dumb. Yes the wait is long, never less than an hour but worth it. I trust him. Knowledgeable and returns calls personally and quickly. I’m out of the area and he is worth the drive and wait.

I would say that dr. Belluzzo is a very knowledgeable and an excellent family doctor. He is a very kind and understanding. He cares a great deal about his patients but of course it is hard to satisfy everybody. Please do not judge his professional approach to every single problem. Don’t we expect too much from a family doctor????? I would rather score all the patients he has to deal with. I have only great things to say about dr. Belluzzo. What a Great doctor!!!!!

Dr Belluzzo is a very good doctor and spends time with his patients young and old explaining things in detail. He is patient, respectful and addresses all concerns, there are very few doctors that I can say that about and I have dealt with many. If his staff was as efficient and caring as he was the office would be alot better.
