He was very good to me, very nice to deal with. Had a sense of humor which was a nice change. He even went along with my half drugged up request about using a marker to say which one to take. Wonderful surgeon and I feel I couldn’t have gotten luckier about the sergeon. If I had the name of the anesthesiologist Iwould rate them aswell because they were wonderful as well this is the first surgery I was offered a spinal on and it was so much better then general anesthetic. Thank you doctor wilkin you were great!

Waited with excruciating side pain for 2 days IN THE HOSPITAL and he never came to see me. I was finally told that I could go to the cafeteria to get something to eat and low and behold that’s when he came to see me. Since I wasn’t there he just passed the message in to the nurse that I was fine and that this is normal in pregnancy and he didn’t need to see me- after I was sent there via EMS from another town.

Was completely dismissive and sent me away even though I still have kidney stone issues. Told me I was young and I’ll be fine. I’d never give him another chance.

Dr Wilken phoned me himself at home to talk to me about how I was doing and to set up a more immediate consultation than the appointment I had (I’ve never had a surgeon phone to see how I was doing). This same sense of taking a personal interest in solving my urinary concerns continued right through the successful TURP surgery. There is no one else I would have rather had doing my surgery than Dr. Wilken. His years of knowledge and experience was obvious when he answered my questions when it came decision making time. His down home friendly demeanor helps set your fears at rest.

7 Years ago I Had Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. Dr. Wilkin Did The Removal Surgery And Cleaned Out the Area. He Was Wonderful In All Steps Of My Situation. So, 7 Years Later, Here I Am Living A Good Life Here In Vernon B.C. I Give Dr. Wilkin Five STARS. Thanks Doc.

Dr. Wilkin provided the initial explanation of my biopsy results after a prostate cancer diagnosis. He was friendly and took an hour to explain all of the treatments covered by health care and their pros and cons. He reassured me that my cancer was in an early stage, so I could even choose active surveillance. However, in a follow-up meeting I arranged to ask questions I gathered during research (after all, we are told treatment choice is one of the most important decisions a man will make), he was very unhelpful. As soon as I asked the first question ("What imaging could I get done to help determine the actual extent of the tumour?"), he told me I was being too analytical, that all I needed was my PSA and Gleason scores, and I should just get on with making a decision. Asked about MRI scans, he told me I would have to research that myself. Re HIFU, he told me that Health Care wouldn't help with any side-effect. Don't ask him about anything but surgery.

Did not cure cancer. Got a brutal infection. Ended up with an incisional Hernia. Had to wear a truss for years.
