Didn’t solve my issue. Didn’t seem to believe me. Offered me no alternatives for the future and no techniques to deal with the pain. He told me that a ‘surgeons time is too valuable to waste on things they can’t figure out.’
His lack of empathy was sickening. He told me to take toradol for chronic pain when at this point I’d like a new doc who at least pretends to care about myself and my debilitating issue.
His receptionist is an ice queen who should be guarding the arctic circle instead of dealing with patients she clearly doesn’t care about.

Aarrogant, inadequate, and disrespectful describes this Dr. It has taken three years for the anger to subside to write this. almost 3 1/2 years ago, aggressive cancer was found in my spouse but Dr Barr never bothered to review the results or contact my husband, his patient. When we weren’t getting any answers or respondes, we returned to our family Dr who simply looked on the provincial computer system to report the unfortunate news and called Dr Barr and got us an immediate appt. Dr, Barr’s first response, and I will never forget this, was that is wasn’t his fault and that knowing earlier wouldn’t have changed any outcome. This after waiting 2 hours, past the appointment time, as usual, to see the Dr. If you can imagine learning you have an aggressive cancer that will kill you and the Dr telling you that it wasn’t his fault he hadn’t reviewed the results in four months following an emergency surgery, you can imagine how terrible it was sitting in that office that day. To add insult and ignorance to injury, he sent us out to book a follow up appointment,we were the last appointment of the day, there was no one else in the waiting room, then he proceeded to interrupt us with his receptions and carried on a five minute conversation with her about his day and the upcoming day. He didn’t apologize, he didn’t let us take 30 seconds to book so he could carry on his conversation, he simply interrupted us, ignored us, and carried on with his receptionist. And remember this is after delivering the most devastating news to a couple. Regardless of who he thinks he is, I consider him a slime bucket. And I am now a widow.

I was attended to by Dr Barr a year ago with an emergency condition. He might not be the most personable person but as a surgeon, he was brilliant. If I ever developed the same issue again, he is the person I would go to.
