Dr. Markowitz and staff and the experience at the CNIB were wonderful. He was knowledgeable, kind, and caring. Very pleased my mother, who has macular degeneration, was referred to him.

I recently had the honor to have an appointment with Dr. Samuel N. Markowitz. As my Endocronologist was concerned that my eyes were indicating some problems due to my thyroids and inquired with his office for a possible quick immediate review and opinion. He was on his way out of the office and rushing to catch a flight to Ottawa for a Government presentation he was giving; so I was not sure he would be able to give me an opinion if there was concern. To my amazement, not only did the staff take the time to start a file for my information but also Dr. Samuel Markowitz took the time to meet with me and do an examination of my eyes. I found him to be Very Knowledgeable, Caring and Humble in his demeanor. As he is also a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto; I am grateful that many future ophthalmologists will have the opportunity to learn his techniques, gain his knowledge and express the sincere concern for patience health. I Sincerely Thank You Very Much Dr. Markowitz for extending yourself beyond your required call of duty ! Thank you, Flora Di Menna

I have found Doctor Markowitz knowledgeable, kind, sympathetic, professional. I can't understand the negative comments about him left here. Perhaps those who are so critical might want to look at themselves.

Unbelievably rude and cynical. I took my mom for a low vision appointment, which she only does once in so many years. He only showed up at the very end of the session, never turned his head towards my my mom, who was the patient, quoted me the prices and displayed his disappointment, that we did not buy everything on the list from him.

He is a rude man who I would never recommend to anyone.

Very competent, kind and patient doctor even when I forgot to take the medicine he prescribed. Very good doctor, he found and fixed my problem (glaucoma). His staff (front desk) is very rude, though, never calls before appointments, and you have to walk on eggshells in front of her, or you will obtain an humiliating outburst/attitude. But the doctor is so wonderful I’ll keep going there.

A warm and very knowledgeable doctor. I needed to get my eye prescription updated for nearsightedness b4 getting new glasses; he was very thorough. Just don’t expect immediate chattiness or extensive small talk, but who needs that? Staff were a bit chilly, but not bad.

Dr. Markowitz appeared to be very cordial, respectful, knowledgeable; explained options and made me feel I can trust that I am receiving the best care.

I have Glaucoma and have been attending Dr. Markovitz’ office at Dovercourt and Davenport for 15 years…. Dr. Markovitz and his staff have treated me like family–with kindness and respect —for the entire time. Dr. Markovitz is internationally respected in his field.. his staff are exceptional and perform exemplory service at all times.I am absolutely insulted by some of the comments I have read on this website against this clinic. Perhaps some of the individuals who made the comments need a psychiatrist as opposed to an opthalmologist.

This man is by far the WORST doctor I have ever met. I have never encountered a more arrogant and rude man in my entire life. I called recently to ask if I could get find out if results of tests were in and his office refused to give me the information. They said I needed to schedule an appointment to find out. I was furious and never went back and will never go back. Stay away from these idiots. He is wretched man.
