Horrible experience. Please avoid. This person is in the wrong profession. Does not want to help, only pushes medication. I went to her for a work-related condition and she complained to me about her job dissatisfaction! Other incidents too but just trust me - avoid!

Absolutely disgusted with Dr Kalava she put my daughter on extremely strong medication on her first appointment with no knowledge of her history and going on the advice of a mentally ill person. She doesn’t return calls and in my opinion doesn’t have the best interest of the patients. She made no attempt to gain the full family history.

Awful and comical experience! My first meeting she told me I was incapable of love and looked like Julia Roberts “just a larger version” She then spent 12 minutes of the appointment googling what a depressed person looks like because she can tell anyone who is depressed just by walking down the street. Our cheeks are always flushed apparently. And final appointment she prescribed me with a medication that was unavailable state wide. When I called for a new script I got told they were aware of the stock shortage and she would call me back to arrange a new prescription. Never did. She lacks compassion and any understanding of how to approach a sensitive topic. This is unacceptable when dealing with people with mental health conditions. The communication barrier can also be hard to adjust to.

Made me feel like I was being lectured and the advice given for reducing anxiety in our practice hypothetical scenarios were to say: "its going to be ok" and they will feel all better. There was one session where I was tired and she kept complaining that I was/looked grumpy -_-. Also had to wait over half an hour for the session when she knew I had arrived.

Dr Su Kalava listened to me & what my preferences were over the options she gave me to treat my medical condition. I feel she has the expertise , knowledge & experience when dealing with especially with anxiety & adhd .
I feel comfortable seeing her again.Knowing that she listened to me on my first appointment .She didn’t ask any irrelevant questions . I would recommend Dr Su Kalava.

I would highly recommend Dr Kalava. As soon as I walked in she was engaged and ready to listen, she took a lot of notes of my symptoms and made me feel comfortable. She correctly identified what I have been struggling with, we had a good laugh about things and she got me on medication, but starting off gradually. Dr Kalava takes a look at your whole health, to see if there is anything else that may be effecting your mental health. Dr Kalava is empathetic, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour.
