Dr. Kawale is an excellent optometrist. He takes the time needed to explain his finding. He seems to love what he does and is quite friendly.

I had been going to Dr. Kawale for a long time. After my last visit I decided to change. I felt he and the other staff were up-selling me. He did not give me time to ask questions, and I was very confused by what and how he told me about my prescription. It seemed that for him and the staff my eye care was none of my business, only for them to understand. They could not explain my charges, and were trying very hard to sell me dailies - which are very expensive.

I have been taking both of my girls to see Dr. Kawale for the past few years and have found him to be exceptionally great. I have referred other people as well who have also been very pleased. He is great with kids and does not rush with them even when they may not be in the “mood”. We found Dr. Kawale through a recommendation from someone in the industry. Great Optomitrist and a very personable and friendly man.

I have “special” eye problems . MS and ABI make getting new and proper glasses almost impossible. Dr. Kawale seemed to take my problems seriously . He decided last I saw him that I’d do better with trying to find ordinary seeing glasses and forget for now bifocals. Even offered me a deal. Again the script he gave me resulted in headaches and nausea , but it took 6wks to discover this. Then was the time he went into selling frames as well. His staff were HOPELESS re OPSP free frames. It took 6 weeks as opposed to usual 2-3-4 days. When I returned to say the “new” glasses didn’t work , I was told basically “too bad ” –unless I wanted to pay. Previously he’d tried his best –unsuccessfully to “tweak” the lenses so I c’d use them . He’d told me –to his credit –again to come back with any probs. His staff, ignoring this, told me too much time had elapsed for ODSP coverage , their fault. I live in constant fear of being completely blind. My specs are fragile broken antiques. Help !!!

Dr Kawale is very professional, knowledgable and great at dealing with children. He helped me with my dry eye problems. I have never had an optometrist explains things to me in such an easy to understand way. Excellent Dr., I highly recommend him.

Staff is decent. No one rude, no one nice. Punctuality was never an issue; he is usually on time, given or taken few minutes. As for the quality of his services… I’m not that sure. At the beginning, he came on all knowledgeable and assured of himself, polite and helpful. Now, looking back at my experience with him, all he did was not that good. I wanted to get contact lenses; he recommended three companies and none worked for me. After that he gave up. But the worst is that he changed my prescription with one that is SO strong that even after 4 years since he changed it I cannot use the pair of glasses that I made with that prescription. I don’t know what is behind the philosophy of prescribing such strong lenses when the ones that I had (and still use) are working really well for me (10 hours/day computer use and reading). All in all, I decided to change him and try some other doctor. I think you pay more for the location than the actual service.

I saw Dr.Kawale for an eye exam and he was incredibly rude and condescending. I asked him a simple question about an eye condition and he acted incredibly rudely. His tone was very rude throughout the eye exam as well. He needs to learn some manners before he’s allowed to practice.
