I waited an hour for my appointment. He was very abrupt and curt with me. I mentioned this to my friends and they said don't judge him on his lack of bedtime manner. I have noticed a lot of the reviews say he is compassionate in the first line. It is as if they were written by the same person. I showed up for my surgery and everyone in the clinic was so nice. Every nurse addressed me by my name and told me what they were doing. After my eye was cut by the laser (I paid a thousand dollars extra to have it cut by the laser. less chance of error, and the most expensive lens money could buy) I was brought to the surgery room. I also had my head tapped down to the bed so there was no chance of me moving. I ask where is Dr Yan? and someone said "he is out playing golf" I dont know if they were joking or serious because I never heard from Dr. Yan. If he was in the room, why would he not say so. After the surgery I got home and the pain started to become unbearable, There was a number to call , so i start calling and calling and it was before 6pm. No one is picking up the phone, why have the number when no one is checking the messages or answering the phone. I was leaving messages, this pain is not normal, please call me , nothing. The pain was so intense I ended up in the emergency room of a hospital. The absolute last place I wanted to go during COVID. The DR there examined by eye and told me my cornea was cut. He could not understand how this could happen if my head was tapped down and a laser cut my eye. The next day the clinic calls me and I am telling them this and could I see Dr. Yan, no they say, he is busy. He never even called me. I ended up seeing another Dr. in the hospital. I would never ever deal with him again,

There's good reason that Dr. Yan runs the clinic at the esteemed Mt. Sinai Hospital. He's highly professional, very knowledgeable, has good 'bedside manner', but doesn't stand for primadonnas! We of fading eyesight doff our proverbial hats to doctors like him. But go very early before your appointment, as the wait can and likely will be long (if not border on ridiculous!) so bring your fave reading material.
