Update from November 18th Markham stouffville Hospital saved my life!.. Ajax Hospital gave me pain meds and sent me home no follow up... I still was not well after... went to Markham.. I had emergency surgery .. the infection was bad it was now affecting my heart.. I will never be back to Ajax! I almost died because of this hospital Disgusted!!

I arrived at hospital at 1am and have been sitting in the waiting room in emergency for 4 hours and not one person has been called in. My urine was taken when I first was triaged and the container is still sitting in the basket in emergency. I can see the nurse through the privacy glass spinning her chair. What the hell is going on.. is no one on call in emergency why not tell us so we can go elsewhere or come back in the morning.. oh wait ot is almost morning!! disgusting service

It is now 6:15 I have been in the emergency waiting room for 6 hours without seeing a doctor... im going to die here in the waiting room.. someone pls help me! I still have to give this a 1 star or it won't post

Update nurse finally called me.. i entered another set of doors and she.starts asking me personal questions.. in the fuckn hallway!!! And then off to another waiting room!! We are now at 10hrs waiting and still i have not seen any doctor She tested my blood pressure up to 189 it wasn't when I arrived! Help

The worst hospital! Heard a neighbor went to the emergency concerned he was having a heart attack and was sent home. Went back a second time with the same symptoms and was sent home again. He died of a heart attack a day later. Many horror stories of complete incompetence. LONG WAITING TIMES only to be misdiagnosed. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!

This hospitals ER deserves nothing more than a 0 star rating.
Patrons Liability is high with Main Entrance and parking lot having several burnt lamps leading you in almost total darkness. (Think twice,, Trip and fall would be worth the lawsuit but don’t expect to be treated properly. LOL.)
Interior and exterior is filthy, you will no doubt notice several staff are miserable and extremely unprofessional, on a positive note their volunteers treat you with respect, professionalism and are very compassionate..
Triage is the first dose of unprofessionalism, your greeted with attitude like your taking them away from their real job, you may be questioned on the validity of your visit even after explaining your ailments including your family Dr’s recommendations to go to the ER if the situation worsens.)
The 2 min standardized questions your asked are vague so your best bet is to exaggerate your symptoms and pain level to ensure you can be taken seriously. (**You will be black listed to the bottom of the pile if triage deems your situation is not worth the ER’s time, they have proven to trump your family Dr’s recommendations..)
I have been a resident of Ajax for 4 decades, watching the continuous erosion of this facility is disheartening.. I have noticed a large decline of complete and professional services over the last 15 years, discussions with neighbors and residents about my experiences are echoed among many..
Several documented complaints with the same or similar experiences are not enough to make a positive change, not sure how this Health Network has let one of their own slip so far below their Network Standard..
I have been advised by many to go to Port Perry Hospital for a much better experience.
Note to all,, don’t waste your time going to Ajax ER. You can drive the x2 hours to Port Perry and back, still save time and in all probability leave there with confidence and satisfaction you received good to excellent health care..

I was in for day surgery and I was very impressed from the moment I walked in to the time I left. Courteous, friendly and helpful staff, from the volunteers to the medical staff. Well done!

Great hospital and wonderful staff. The doctors, nurses, janitorial staff… everyone was great. My child received great care. She had previously received poor care at the Bowmanville hospital but this hospital and staff were completely different. She stayed here for over a week and we are extremely happy with the care received. The facilities are good as well and parking is fairly affordable and easy to access. My only critique is there is no food facilities.

I faced horrible experiences in when my wife was facing a breathing problem they took over 4hrs to take her in and then asked to wait for the doctor who could take another 3-4 hrs. Not acceptable at all. The worst level of health care facility.
