I was a doctor there and faced bias from the leader. He refused to hear my complaints about how orders were lost and not processed. He told me to âbe collegialâ that is to speak white. The administration is a disgrace and disgusting.

This clinic is disorganized and unsafe. Oncologists, nurses and staff are overwhelmed and stressed. Orders are missed and not processed. They are not equipped to provide Canadian standard of care. If you can afford to pay, do yourself a favour and go to Seattle.

I had stage 3 breast cancer. There was no MRI done before the surgery and three unclear margins were left after a partial mastectomy. This surgical option was supported by a Victoria Cancer Agency Medical Oncologist. The breast tumor was 3.8 cm in a natural small A-cup breast and the Oncologist’s original research was used to justify the non-mastectomy option! A radical mastectomy was needed to clear the margins. I have received no apology and no compensation! Also, the PET scan was not available yet, the staging took too long, and it was supposed to be two months until the surgery but it was three. The follow-up seemed not as good as it should be such as the surgically implanted catheter for chemo, the Port-O-Catheter, was not follow-up and flushed for six months before its removal! The return of unexplained nausea and malaise has not been figured out and I fear that early detection is not occurring again.

A Year ago I will rate them all 5. Things changed to the worse. Missing appoinments, orders, not answering the phones and not returnig the calls back. Staff in the Pharmacy was so helpfull, not any more. So sad.

I give the BC Cancer Agency, Victoria, top marks. I have under teatment since November, 2023, and have had nothing but positive experiences.
The staff, from the check-in desk to the oncologists have been unfailing in their professionalism, attention to detail and the warmth and understanding they have shown me. All of the above applies, as well, to the RNs in the treatment centre and the Nurse Practioner who has a hands-on role in helping me through this process.
My life is in good hands and I thank you all.

I am in the process of dealing with the VICC and find them to be very understanding, helpful and willing to help.
I have read some of the comments here and I find some of them totally unfair. The Dr’s and staff of the clinic have to deal with thousands of patients a week and cannot be at everyons beck and call. The internet is available yo people that require answers as well as the library and your family Dr. These people so far have tried their best to answer any questions that I have, and whilst I am doing chemo they have been extremely available to each and every patient in that room. I have been treated with care, compassion and respect.
With the shortage of medical professionals I dearly believe these people give all they have.
I thank each and every one of them and I sincerely hope that at the end of their work day they can rest assured that at least I owe them a debt of gratitude.
