I am terrified of this guy. He calls people fat, he also put me in psyche because I said I couldn't handle a stomachache. I actually had food poisoning and was so desperate to get relief from the everlasting nausea I was begging for something to help me. This guy is really awful

My doctor retired and now am with Dr Bland. He listens, and is very compassionate. He even has a sense of humor which has eased my tension. I'm a senior so have had many doctors over the years and am very confident with Dr Bland.

I went to see him in the early 1990s and he sent me to the hospital as he was very concerned about my x-rays being impossible to evaluate (lungs were decidedly hard to see), high blood pressure and difficulty breathing. I had severe pneumonia and he insisted I get to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital within 1 - 2 hours. I am so grateful for his attentiveness. - Barry.

Definitely the most ignorant and rude waste of flesh. How he made it in the medical profession is beyond me. Would have been better doing autopsy's where he didn't have to deal with breathing humans.

Dr bland is a total jerk. He has horrible beside manner. I said the words âI can't handle this anymoreâ. Which was a stomach ache!!! And he admitted me into the psyche ward. Only to be released with some gravol the following day.

this past wk was rushed thru emergency,and with nurse judy [[love yu gal]] and the fantastic red headed doctor Philip ?? hope rite ,thank yu thank yu ,but judy when yu passed me over to the other section well !! what a big difference NO ATTENTION ,NO CARE ,NO NOTHING ,,guess a lot has to do with the staff thanks again blond Judy and my favourite red headed doc Philip ?

it has got to one of the worst run organizations! one doc says one thing while another says another. when called upon it you get a whole bunch of cover each others backs ! when told you are a waste of resources tells you a lot about the sort of so called professionals working there. We met one the worst excuse for doc you could possibly managed , with the people skills of garbage on a stick .Other patients and a couple of aid workers were shocked that this doc could behave this way. Some but kissing was given to us but then that same doc showed up and
behaved in the same way ! it tells you a lot about the lack of leadership at the hospital. If they are having a tough time getting doctors well the reason is simple … who would want to be associated with pride with this lot. Shame on you , you have earned all the flack you have been thrown upon you and then some !

Can’t figure out if any of the doctors actually care. I feel the ones that show even a little empathy are just putting on an act. I’ve had the worst experiences with ER physicians. Overworked, I expect. We really need to get more doctors, and soon. Unacceptable treatment, sometimes you even get belittled. In the end your left to fend for yourself unless you’re immediately dying. Not a good situation. Especially because its the only hospital in town.

For the second time, the lack of care in this hospital almost killed me. The first time, after childbirth, I was left unattended, without proper checks, for four hours. I was hemorrhaging. When the nurses saw it, they didn’t write it in the chart. Five days later, I had a massive infection (now at home) with extremely high temperatures. They wanted to admit me again but I refused, afraid that this time they might succeed.The second time, I’d had day surgery overseas, but when I returned to Nanaimo, I found infection. They did surgery to repair. Again, days later, I had a massive infection that required a further surgery and five day in-patient stay. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU HAVE NO CHOICE.
