I have spent my share of time at BTHC, its always been fairly pleasant. However this past weekend I was at rhw emergency for my daughter. We spent from 7pm until 10pm in the room waiting for the doc. No one came to update me or let me know doc is being held up. I decided to step out and make sure they didn't forget about us. A nurse behind the desk asked what I was doing and I explained. Her response was "are you waiting in a room" to which I replied yes. She stood up from behind the desk and proceeded to rudely tell me to go back and wait. I could see she was upset and irritated with the fact that I left our room. I went back to our room not 5 minutes latee dox was suddenly available to see us. We had to wait another 2 hours after seeing doc. As someone who works in the health care field, I'd like to think patience and compassion would be in every facility.

The biggest complaint I have is the lack of pillows and the ones they have are in poor condition. They also have to ensure there is more than one pillow per patient. After hip surgery it is nice to have one between your knees, at your back and under your head. Some more experienced HCAs were awesome and they should re-orientate some of the younger newer ones, as I had mentor them myself on what was needed.. .. . . . they should have known.

Doctors were unsympathetic towards me when I went there after a relapse. I was having seizure and doctors and nurses were refusing to give me information. I tried to remain calm but then ended in tears and yelling and begging to go home.

Horrid communication, indifferent to your concerns, & slow. Nurses have a chip on their shoulder.

My mother died of staff infection. No staff, doctors or nurses, were using hand sanitizer, washing their hands or using gloves while making rounds on ward. Not a State of the Art hospital, that’s for sure.

Waited in the waiting room for 5 hours with a burst appendix while the doctor played Solitaire. Only 2 other patients, and one had been there longer.
