Since being assigned dr dorengowski after my long term family doctor retired, I have had nothing but negative experiences with her. Including her refusing to take any appts with me (even just refill a prescription that I’ve been on for 7 years) until a pay for a 25$ doctors note that I never even ended up picking up- which she also argued over giving me in the first place. I am trying my best to find a new doctor.

Dr. Paula Dorengowski was chosen for us as our new doctor. I have nothing positive to say about my experiences with her thus far. I asked to come in and have my blood pressure checked as I have a history of high blood pressure and she told me where i could buy a blood pressure machine and walked me through the steps how to do it. She still gets paid for the phone call I had to make. I could have figured that out myself. What’s the point of having a family doctor if she’s not seeing patients?

Dr. Paula Dorengowski, thankfully she’s not accepting more patients. I had a virtual appt with her to request and X-ray and ultrasound and gave me a hard time and said you really need to go to your family Dr. It was an urgent request HENCE why I called my local urgent care clinic. This new Dr really needs to work on her patient skills.

This place needs to be shut down. I saw a mouse crawl out a nurses bag.

switchboard works 6 hrs a day Monday to Thursday 2.5 hrs on Fridays!
Duty nurse unavailable no callback at all, other calls returned after a week or longer playing phone tags, referrals may take for ever I heard nothing back for over 30 days and had to visit hospital emergency even for stick removal! A waste of OHIP funds.

Dr Luke use to be great with response however lately he has been slowing to a snails pace. I am in the process of switching doctors as a result. To be honest he is way too young and inexperienced. He tried to force feed me into accepting a diagnosis that I received for my mental health at a hospital, despite my pleading that I was in fact not bipolar. I have since been switched to having had a bout with psychosis and I am no longer on the meds he kept pushing to get that $$$. His secretaries are also quite rude and inconsiderate. I receive my calls answered with doubt and a lack of care.

Went To the ER department with a visual issue. Due to a tear in the same eye 2 years earlier, I thought seeking treatment at the ER was appropriate. I was dealt with in a time appropriate manner. Other people had more serious issues. I was seen by Dr. McHenry and was treated quite well. In and out ~ 2.5 - 3 hours with a next day appointment with an Ophthalmologist in Oshawa.

Dr. Rotolo is the worst doctor I have come across in a while. She was extremely insensitive, used terminology I didn't understand. I am not a doctor. Minimized my condition and refused to give me a blood test. She didn't even look at my body or ask any other questions. Just told me it couldn't be an infection and dismissed the possibility of an infection. But wouldn't give me reasons. Heartless and left there feeling even more distraught and frustrated.

Dr. Rotolo, not personable at all.. I was in a serious accident. Where I was rear ended quite hard on the high way by a drunk driver (who was arrested at the scene). Went to the hospital to get my (thankfully) minor injuries checked out. She was very stand off-ish. Minimizing my pain and injuries. Told me that my injuries are normal and to go home and take tylenol. No x-rays no testing. She asked me to see my vehicle (pics) when I showed her she again minimized the whole thing. (The other car was totaled) hood was almost inside his windshield. And mine was damage in the back. Anyways.. I have never been asked for pics of the accident from a Dr to justify my injuries. Just horrible. She didn't even want to give me a note for my work to be off for a few days so I can heal from the whiplash. She told me that going back quickly sometimes Is the better way. I am so confused... if she was just having a bad day... if she just didn't like me.... or if this is the way she actually conducts medical practice.. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this care today. I truly felt like I was wasting her time.. so. Here I am at home still wondering g if my injuries were any more serious then what she shrugged off. Just horrible.

Broke two bones on 2 separate incidents. This hospital was fantastic. ER doctor was a bit rude and abrupt when I broke my arm. Other than that, they did what they could and sent me to Oshawa hospital when needed. This place is better than Ajax Pickering hospital by far!!! I've been to the Ajax hospital many times. Bowmanville is better
