Third world medicine - avoid at ANY cost and do not believe any estimated wait times that are published or provided. The wait is 15-24 hours easy with no food or water. You can also rest assured that you will leave with some respiratory illness or other communicable disease that you didn't come in with due to overcrowding. An embarrassment to an already abysmal health care system.

I had an amazing experience at Brantford General on Dec. 7 and 8, 2023. The facility is undergoing construction and upgrades and the conditions are expected. My pre-op went smoothly and fast. The staff there were very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I had my surgery on the 8th. The day surgery nurses were absolutely amazing. Again friendly, courteous , knowledgeable, and very willing to assist anyone with anything. After surgery in the recovery the staff were just the same. These nurses and doctors get far less credit than they deserve. They are running around with their heads cutoff to assist each and every patient as being short staffed. no wonder they are tired and burnt out. I would gladly go to Brantford General for any of my needs. Well done staff done staff. Big thumbs up. Thank you for the amazing experience.

The place is filthy. The stuff is extremely is rude. The doctors have no bedside manner resume. They don’t feel they all the family members any kind of obligation to communicate effectively with them so they understand what’s going on. The managers and the senior staff are bullies and they use the security. Is there a henchman to carry out their orders. A bunch of unethical people in a not so nice place where people come to have their lives restored received, but I’m sure they end up losing more patience than they do. Keep them not only physically but everything else.

I had surgery done there many years ago when Dr. Bernard Rerri was there and the staff was fantastic and so was he. I came out of there feeling like a whole new human being.

From ER facilities and staff, all the way up to inpatient facilities, care, follow-up and staff. The place is filthy, the staff is unmotivated, and must be the hospital that staff come to, when they can’t get hired anywhere else. This must be the ‘last resort’ not only for patients, but as an employment choice too.
Brantford General Hospital is incredibly consistent at not even giving the appearance of trying to help patients heal/repair/be healthy. The staff at all levels, from administration to department head show they are just regular people showing up to collect a paycheque.
Nursing staff however, will raise the bar, never before have I seen this level of vindictive maliciousness from multiple staff members all in one place, at the same time before. I’ve observed the odd ‘bad apple’ in medical care over the years, but BGH is where they gather, this is the barrel in which they all mingle and spread the rot and decay of all hope, positivity and life. Shocking to witness and horrendous to experience.
Less than the bare minimum is what you can expect at this facility, you would likely get better care from a veterinarian clinic. Drive the extra 30 mins AWAY from BGH
