Not enough funding. Sometimes I feel they don’t care for me but I am crazy. Most of the time the nurses and doctors selflessly give themselves for people in pain like me. Thank you

Attended the ED for pain management of a chronic condition and was treated with kindness and professionalism. This treatment continued on the ward.
Thank you for restoring my faith and making me feel safe

I was an emergency air lift from Wagga Wagga to Canberra. I spent 5 months traveling from ICU, neurological ward and orthopedic ward. The nurses on neuro and ortho are some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. I can’t thank them enough for not only saving my life but the amount of care given for a public hospital

Poor air quality, place smelt stuffy and stale. Staff looked tired and mostly uninterested although some were nice. Whole place in general felt like somewhere you go to die,not get well. Terrible unhealthy food, would probably make you sicker. Drab walls and aesthetics too in general, feels more like a mental ward from the 50s where people are locked away than a modern place of healing.

If you have mental health problems, you might as well just kill yourself now - no one at any ACT Health facility cares about people with mental health problems.

Can anyone believe this? I would provide 0 if I could Last month, my brother was transferred from Moruya Hospital via ambulance, and we understand Moruya had called Canberra Hospital of his condition well in advance. The Doctor in the ED Canberra Hospital refused to admit him and advised his condition did not require hospitalization and sent him off with a prescription only. He was showing symptoms of Astra Zenica blood clotting and prior to this he had been extremely fit and healthy. Understanding how ill he was the family did mount a strenuous argument to admit him. Despite this the ED Doctor again refused insisting there was nothing they could do that could not be achieved at home. Seven days later again via an ambulance he was finally admitted to Canberra Hospital and very sadly he died 3 days later with the TGA's website stating his death was “possible Astra Zenica Thrombosis” Surely if a patient is relocated from a regional hospital and transferred to a larger medical facility being Canberra Hospital, one would think the ED would be cognisant of the severity of the patient's condition. With a seriously ill patient being transported over 200 kms the family had assumed this type of transfer would be considered an emergency. But not according to the ED Canberra Hospital. What does this ED and that specific Doctor consider an emergency!! The trauma of his passing will never leave us and as a family we will never know if he had been admitted that day would he be still with us? The message to others is that if a loved one is transferred to Canberra Hospital via ambulance, exhibiting a life-threatening condition, do not assume the patient will be treated with a degree of dignity and caring that one would expect. Expect extreme medical incompetence and ineptitude.

Pretty shit hospital. Staff are rude and not helpful. I get they are busy but they could still treat their patients with respect. Go private or to Calvery if you can. Also as canberra is small I known of an Ed nurse that looks up people she knows records so they probally all do. Not very professional in my opinion

If I could rate this hospital at zero I would. My friend was in the Canberra hospital for 6 weeks with a blocked bowel before they did anything to help her and that it took family and friends to get a doctor to see her. Nursing assistants are rude and it took telling the nurse who spent more time playing a game that if my friend did not get help by the next day I would sue the hospital. A doctor came the next day and my friend was home in a week despite losing 7 kilo in this hospital. If my friend had to go back to hospital and a ambulance was called they were told that if they had to go to the Canberra hospital she would rather die at home. This is a hospital that I would not take my dog to. Rude uncaring nursing assistants who did not wash their hands.
