After several weeks in Rockyview Hospital our mother was transferred to this facility for rehab, having suffered from severe Sciatica. Once she was admitted, we paid the minimum two week cost of T.V. for her, and two days later we were told she HAD to leave and go home, even though she could not walk. They wanted her out immediately and we had to beg for an extra day to give us time to get a toilet seat and walker as she couldn’t even get from the bed to the toilet. We asked about home care and were told that would take at least a week and we (her family) would just have to cover. The icing on the cake was releasing her with less than 48 hours worth of pain medication so on top of everything else, we had to get this suffering elderly woman to the doctor for more pain medication. The really should be called “Don’t Care West” – disgusting!!!

I stayed in the Care West Sarcee in January 2012 for about 2.5 weeks. The place was rundown but fairly clean, the staff friendly and the the food, while geriatric portions, was good and tasty. Didn’t like getting a shower only once a week, especially as I had long hair but the staff tried to accommodate and I managed to get in an extra shower once in a while. Wouldd have prefered having daily meeting with the Dr in an office rather in the hallway and an assistant should have been present to take notes as there was at least one patient who mis represented the Doctors orders, however, the staff seemed to have a good grasp of the situation and handled her well though it was a long waste of their time.
