Wow, where do I start. I had a terrible abscess in my mouth. I was up all night and could no longer stand the pain. My dentist was not available and so I went to the hospital. I arrived around 8:00 a.m. and was admitted immediately. The woman at the reception desk was wonderful, Jennifer I believe was her name, very pleasant. Unfortunately that's where it ended. I was taken to what appeared to be a storage room with a hospital bed in it. The nurse was not overly friendly, but hey, no worries. She told me it "would be a while" before I could be seen. The emergency area was empty, there was one other patient and I could hear her telling him the same thing. I waited for almost two hours in a room that was 60 degrees. I finally asked for a blanket and some water as I was spitting up blood (gross I know, but that's how it was). She threw a blanket at me and brought me a glass of water. I asked how much longer it was going to be? She said the doctor (Dr. Kruik) wasn't in yet and I was JUST GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT. I asked if I could see the doctor that was in (Dr. Clayton) and she said NO. I asked why I was waiting for a doctor to get out of bed and get to work and she said "you are not an emergency, you'll have to wait" I said, no I wasn't an emergency by her standards but it was an emergency to ME. I get it, there is a priority in emergency - but remember, there was no one else there!! She walked out without saying a word. I didn't get this nurse's name but she was working the morning shift on July 20, 2021. You know who you are!! After waiting another 45 minutes, I got up and left. I bet they still don't know I'm gone. We went to Boundary Trails Hospital and I told the triage nurse what happened. She was disgusted and said "for what it's worth I'm sorry you encountered such a terrible nurse. We are not all like that". I was treated and taken care of wonderfully by the incredible staff at Boundary Trails. I know this is a Carman Hospital review, but THANK YOU BOUNDARY TRAILS. I would recommend while heading to the Carman Hospital, if possible, keep driving. You'll arrive at a wonderful hospital in approximately 30 minutes.

My sister passed away in the Palliative Care Unit in January this year. She had wonderful caregivers and we know she went peacefully. She appreciated all the back rubs and the genuine care. Thank you to all of the fantastic staff for looking after all of Marilyn's needs.

The hospital is ok but the front desk staff are rude and not accommodating.

This is a very clean facility. The nursing staff go above and beyond their call of duty. This is a smaller country hospital that provides many services. The nursing staff do all nursing duties. Emergency, labour/delivery, ICU, surgical, palliative care and day to day care. I personally have never had a very long wait time to see a doctor at this hospital. Unfortunately, the country hospital is having trouble keeping doctors. So very sad to see when for years the same five physicians worked closely together to keep it a great medical facility.m
