Something seriously wrong with this facility and staff. Dr. doesn't talk to family members, staff haven't a schmick about mental health. No group activities. Refuse to treat a rash. Put people on nicotine patches when they don't smoke. So bizarre this place. Nurses are rude and mean to family members. No discharge planning. My God someone needs to investigate. I will be calling the media. Enough is enough.

This facility is amazing. Sorry to hear of some of the negative experiences. Not sure if it depends on what unit or program you are in but my experience with clients has been awesome. Everytime I am there it amazes me from design to opportunities for individuals to improve. Staff seem to love their jobs and are very good at what they do. I haven’t been a patient but people very dear to me have.

Cleanliness is a privilege, wasn’t allowed to shower here for 4-5 days because I was room restricted. Staff is straight up rude and lacks any empathy. They also use an ungodly amount of styrofoam (you get two styrofoam plates, 2 cups, and a bowl. Multiple times a day.). I would only suggest coming here if you have severe brain injuries not mental health issues.

Be an advocate for your loved one in this facility. Clerks are good, but there’s an awful male nurse who is very rude, vengeful and at times was vindictive towards a patient in here. I’m also in here but he’s especially cruel to this male patient. Don’t question anything he says or you’ll get treated terrible. He should not be working here.
This is not a place to be if you have mental issues. Scary scary place.

Wow, after reading others reviews and being a parent of an individual that requires mental health care I am saddened by my child’s care while at this facility. Complaining of an itchy throat landed her in a solitary confinement room where there was no tv not even a radio or DVD player nothing to keep her entertained it was several days of just sitting there with her own thoughts which are often suicidal! She was moved to a more secure unit because she cut herself with a plastic knife, was given a razor to shave her legs which she pulled the blades out of to cut herself and even had access to push pins she could use to push into her veins. My question is how does a patient with suicidal thoughts she openly discussed with the doctor get access to all that stuff?
She’s noted that a nurse hurt her by grabbing her by the shoulder and squeezing while talking sternly to her while showing a co-patient a utube video the nurse deemed unsuitable. My daughter talked about having sex with several of the other patients and even found time to take sexually exploitive photos and send them to people on the internet.
Rather than doing group activities that would engage the patients or provide them with things to occupy their time they are left to their own devices.
When trying to speak with my stepdaughters dr. And having permission to do so the Dr. Simply ignores the messages and refuses to contact me. Now my daughter who had free reign ti phone me so no longer permitted to make phone calls and when she is allowed she is limited to 15 minutes. It appears they try to distance the patients and segregate them from family. Mental health care is not supposed to be locking people up and forgetting about them. Even the most difficult cases need to be treated with respect, understanding and compassion. Whole medication is often helpful it shouldn’t be the only resource to control patients by sedating them into submissive zombies. I understand caring for these patients is extremely difficult and physically and emotionally taxing but let’s not go back to an a by gone era where patients were left to be forgotten by society in jails for mentally insane.
