Horrible place and drs. Went there and had really high Blood pressure and bcuz my family dr passed the doctor asked if i wanted him to prescribe me a medication and i said yes. Then this dr. Blondie gives me a written prescription without my name on it and when my pharmacy called about the prescription they said they had nothing on file for the medication and was told to go back to the hospital or find a family dr, which isnt easy right now, to get a prescription for the issue. Avoid this place, ive also had 2 other major issues with them involving my dads passing last year... absolute joke of a place.

My husband went for a Day Hip Replacement surgery on February 24, 2023. During his surgery he aspirated. His vomit went into his lungs and the oxygen was cut off from his brain. Although, much like experiencing drowning. Then he went into Cardiac Arrest. After being given CPR a rhythm and pulse were re-established. He was transferred to the Recovery Room and ventilated. It was a completely devastating for my family as we watched and listened the staff. We were in complete shock as it was a Day Surgery for a Hip Replacement. He was then transferred to the Grace Hospital ICU and on the seventh day was removed from the ventilator and passed away on March 3rd, 2023. Our lives, as his, have been destroyed. The Concordia Hospital website ensures a better of quality of life by enabling a man to walk once again free of pain. My husband, however, never had that chance to walk. Months later we were asked to come to the Concordia once again to review what happened and if so question the surgery. However, none of the Surgical Team was in attendance. Only to be replaced by bystanders that were not in the Operating Theatre at the time of the event. Nearly, one year later, I still ask why a team of proposed skilled healthcare leaders could not read the monitors that clearly had displayed that he was in distress. After all, it must have been so painful in those last moments. Suffocating, drowning, by no longer being able to breathe.

The facility is ok its just the staff their if you aren’t management, nurses or doctors theirs alot of classism that alainates the support staff to be treated and overlooked like nobody’s to the out it’s caused serious mental health problems clearly humility and empathy is clearly lacking kinda ironic considering it’s a christian hospital I don’t think Jesus would be to happy witnessing the behavior their shame

I had a shoulder replacement surgery at Concordia Hospital the end of April 2022 . The first night after my surgery at 3 am I pressed my call button to have the nurse apply the ice pak which I had brought with me. He was incredibly rude and demanded to know why this wasn’t done earlier. I said I thought the meds would manage the pain but I think I need ice as well. He was visibly angry, glaring at me and barking that this all should have been done and why was he expected to do it now!!I was so scared I actually got out of bed and attempted to hook up the ice machine myself with one operated arm in a sling !! He finally did it and left while I sat in bed and cried. Another night nurse came into my room and asked me why I was crying and I just said âhe was so mad at meâ. She didn’t care and she left me sobbing into my hands. My roommate heard the whole situation and was adamant I report the male nurse who was abusive . I didn’t see that male nurse again and reported him when I got home. After 4 weeks I got a call from Concordia patient services and the woman apologized for his actions and that was that. Absolute unacceptable behaviour!

I have had rheum arthritis since 1998. In 2007 I was referred to Concordia for knee replacements. Saw dr turgeon. Who is a awesome dr. By 2011. My rheum told me Concordia lost my chart. He had just found out. My family went to Dominican for my oldest sons wedding. We left Jan 31st. My surgery was scheduled for feb 5. The first day everyone was great. Was on it pain meds. And oral. The day after is when the trouble started. A blond physio therapist with huge glasses came in said I had to do physio now. My nurse Caroline was in the room. She asked the lady if could wait for 10 min so could bring me meds. She was told no. As I am from the country and very old school , I thought had to listen to her. We went off. Remember it’s the morn after my surgery. We got to a stairwell. She then said I had to go up the steps. I cried all the way up. Got to the landing. Was just going to sit down. Was told no can’t do that. Wasn’t allowed to test at all. She also left the wheel chair at the bottom of the stairs. So down I went. I was so upset and said I am not going to do anymore. And if she didn’t like it oh well. Got back to my room. Caroline was there with pain meds. The next morn the physio came again. Told her to leave and don’t come back. I also found out that lady started 2 weeks before I got there. I was only supposed to only be there for 5 days. Had to stay for 11 days. I already take very strong meds for my arthritis. And had to be given iv ketamine. And another meds I’ve can’t temember. Also because I am highly allergic to tomat. I got served. Mac and cheese for 10 of the 11 days there for dinner and supper. Which I haven’t eaten since. My second replacement, I was terrified to go. Almost refused even though it had to be done. I met with physio to find out if that girl was still there. Was told she got fired. So I went ahead with it. All turned out great. Only had to stay 5 days this time. A much better experience. Now need hip replacement. Food was much better and hoping will experience.

Went in with extreme muscle pain head to toe. I was takent to an off room right after seeing the nurse. Took a while to get much needed pain meds until they had an idea what might be wrong with me. Did Xrays an EKG & blood work right away . I have heart issues so checked a ton to rule it out. Nurses & doctors were excellent . One doc thought he might have the right diagnoses after 2nd blood work was done. He got internal medicine to redo blood work in the am & he was correct. I was still in pain but the Hydro morph helped alot. I was given thecorrect meds & was sent home it 3 hours. I was still week but on my way to recovery. By 6pm the next day I was 80% better. Thank you so much Concordia Staff
