Would not recommend Cresst to anyone. Outdated building, poor doctors, nobody cares. In fact, it’s pretty similar to any Canadian Mental Health facility. Absolutely laughable how bad Cresst is.

I was at first fear of one more place.
it is as good and warm as home. Thanks

CRESST New Westminster is nothing in comparison to other facilities that provide similar services. Staff do not have adequate training, support for patients is extremely lacking, and the building itself is very outdated, cold, and uncomfortable. Staying here equates somewhat to staying at a bad motel, except food is provided (not very healthy) and you occasionally see a nurse or doctor – other than that, you can pretty much do anything and they don’t pay much attention. So if you need support maintaining your safety, don’t agree to go here. If you want improvements in your mental health, don’t agree to go here. If you’re desperate to get out of hospital and this is your only option, go for it. It’s not the end of the world to stay here, and I’m sure some people find benefits, but it’s really not that great once you’ve seen what other services are available. In terms of the healthcare/treatment itself…. Nurses forget your meds (even if you’ve reminded them) and forget that you’ve said you really need to talk (even if they’ve reminded them). They don’t leave the nursing station very often and seem really inconvenienced if a patient asks for help with something. There’s a promise of structure and groups/learning while staying here but that never exists. The doctors are good, just don’t see patients as often so it kind of extends a stay longer than maybe necessary. My final recommendation is go to the Surrey or Abbotsford location: they have way better management, are much more professional, and seem to care about what they are doing SO much more than this one. Take care everyone

What an amazing place to go when you are not feeling well. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and caring. My Doctor really listened to what I had to say and got me back on track. This is a great place if you need help.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Facilities are clean. Meals are often okay to good. At the time I was here there were some broken tech items that needed fixing/replacing. Overall I found my stay to be pleasant, would attend again if needed.

Not a therapeutic environment & staff seem completely devoid of concern , or interest in helping the clients! It's like a full service motel, (meals included) & complete with a TV & pay phone! Otherwise, it's a depressing, lonely place to be & is not helpful when your mood is already low! Avoid tjis place!
