(Follow-up added) Avoid Davis Hospital and Steward Hospitals at all costs! They have a horrible reputation and are the laughing joke by doctors and nurses at other top local hospitals and clinics. But worst is their horrible, inexcusable customer service in billing department coming from someone who always pays bills on time or prepays as we had with them and still horrible post billing experience!

We prepaid estimate for procedure two days prior. Then 15 months later received a bill saying we owed more money. Not sure what bill was for we called in and received the rudest employees at their South Jordan billing office. I hate being late on any bill and to receive rude service when the first bill notice they sent was 15 months later is bad business! We have no issue paying what is owed but bad billing practices and then being treated rude is unacceptable if it takes them 15months after. I confirmed insurance paid 7 days after claim and never received any other bill until 15 months later is bad business. We will never do business with Davis Hospital or Steward ever again! Then their Collection service sends us an update stating we owe an additional $275, the amount we received as a Pre-payment discount never once acknowledging they never sent us a bill, apologizing, or simply explaining the amount due and asking us for payment.

Follow up – I reached out to Kevin (Patient Advocate) and while he was kind and empathized he said he hears countless complaints about Steward billing and not anything he can do! So “contact our Pt Advocate” in reviews is essentially just a cut and paste, lip service and a canned response to reviews. He said, “We save our customers in Surgery, and then kill them in our (centralized) Billing Department!” I have never had a worst customer service experience than dealing with Davis and Steward. Will NEVER go to Davis again and will encourage anyone I know considering going to Davis for anything to go anywhere but there due to their rude billing employees and horrible billing practices.

This hospital was so rude! Frank an RN in the emergency room was the worst nurse I have ever had! I had my roommate in there and he completely ignored me and what I was trying to help with because my best friend was being treated and he acted like I was an inconvenience to his work when every time I walked out of the room he was just chatting away so disappointed in this hospital

Two hours to see a doctor in the ER. Basically told us they’re doing nothing for my daughter. I don’t even know why this hospital is here at this point

When I saw the comments APRN Julie Krause has made on my medical records I couldn’t believe it. Not only did she make absurd accusations (like saying I had autism), she went out of her way to make me sound like a horrible person. She did this to justify the way she treated me. In addition to that, her diagnosis made absolutely no sense as she contradicted herself by claiming I was on drugs that her own tests clearly showed I wasn’t on. When I tried to ask her about it, she refused to meet with me and own up to her mistakes. She also prescribed me to medications which are known to be dangerous to take together and instructed me to take them both at the same time. She is an awful person.

This hospital sent me a statement showing I overpaid by more than $500 for my surgery in 2022. It is now August 2023 and the hospital still has not returned my money. Every time I call it is a different story. Not the mention the hospital stay was like a third world experience. After they pulled out my catheter from a kidney removal they never came to help me to the bathroom despite repeated requests. My husband went a purchased a walker and brought it into the hospital and helped me to the bathroom. My pain meds were totally ignored and I was in the worst pain of my life. The heater did not work in the room. It was like a motel heater mounted into the wall. I asked they turn it on the warm the room. What a mistake. Hours later the heater is still blasting and the room is at least 100 degrees, because no one ever comes in to check on you. Beware, and find a different hospital if you can.

24 hours now without stroke medication due to my pharmacist not being able to contact anyone to clarify my prescription. I tried calling myself and just get answering machines. Ridiculous. Use a different hospital if you can.

Post natal care was horrific! I was denied basic items like ice pads for bleeding after giving birth. I wasnt even in there for a full 24 hours when my newborn was taken from me without my consent to NICU for supposedly life threating infection n low temps. Jennifer gilsoul MD refused to allow me to see my newborn and denied my plea for skin to skin contact . My rights as a parent were stripped away and she had no qualms telling me she would not give me records of diagnosis and treatment. My time to bond with my baby was stolen and in the end of bogus treatment more like torture and prison. My baby had no life threatening infection! I was threated cps would be called if i tried to get my baby out of the hospital. Two days later he was released but not without pushback from NICU staff. I was also denied a wheelchair from my nurse after MD refused to give me records. My nurse said since i was high risk for blood clots it was good for me to walk. I had just given birth and was swollen, bleeding, and in pain and i told her i request one and she said no. Do not have your baby there if anything should go wrong your parental rights will be taken and it will be a nightmare and living hell to get your baby out.

My Mom was in isolation and on IV antibiotics for an antibiotic resistant bacterial infection. Trina, the Nurse Practitioner insisted my Mom had to have a midline placed before she could go to a skilled nursing center. After two failed attempts, an IV was placed. Her antibiotic was delayed over two hours as they tried to place the midline. As she was receiving her IV antibiotic, Trina, NP, came in with the social worker to tell us my Mom would be transported in 15 minutes to the skilled nursing center. She had worked for an hour to get special permission to admit my Mom with an IV to a skilled nursing center. My Mom's dinner arrived as she was wheeled out of her room. They gave it to her to go. No discharge instructions were given. Nothing was signed. We were given “the bums rush.” The nurse and aides were surprised that she was leaving. As we arrived at the skilled nursing facility, I had to tell them she had been in isolation at the hospital where people were gowned, masked, and gloved to enter the room. They didn't know she was in isolation. Trina took the discharge papers and put them in a folder and told me to give them to the skilled nursing facility. On this paperwork, it had instructions to follow up with a doctor. This doctor wasn't my Mom's doctor in Utah. It was some doctor in the state of Washington. The nurses and aides gave wonderful care to my Mom. Trina, NP was awful. She was upset that she had worked so hard in the last hour to “problem solve” and make this move happen. She said she'd never had so much trouble with a family about a midline before. Rachel, the social worker, wanted to know how she could make me feel better about the move. She explained to me that these things happen fast in a hospital. They weren't concerned about my Mom only that she get out as soon as possible. My Dad was home on hospice and I had to scramble to find people to sit with him since I had to stay with my Mom for the transition to the skilled nursing facility. Trina and Rachel took a positive hospital experience with the nurses and aides who gave a great level of care and turned it into a hectic and chaotic expulsion from the hospital.
