The service is terrible. My son was in a car accident and we waited 10 hrs before we had a chance to see anyone.

The ER is filthy! Very unclean and unsanitary! Makes you worry about infectious disease.

I'm not even giving a star. They did a hip surgery on mother in law. Transferred her from Roanoke Va claim she would Recover fine. Well she didnt and they keeping her medicated up and her bones are breaking. However they won't transfer her to hospice because the Medicare isn't paying and Medicaid won't cover because she's out of state. The docs that took her case retired. So new doc is some Stupid chick and she is literally baby talking to my mother in law. It's ridiculous and taking about getting her to hospice but insurance isn't paying. I do not recommend especially if your from out of state and you have a loved one because the commute is bad and staying in hotels and only two people at a time can go up. Then you have to return tag and get new person a tag and lines are Long. This place is a crap hole and no one has any amount Of compassion. They are rude and just seem to be there.

Worst ED in the triangle. Would not recommend to anyone in the area. The utter incompetence of staff is ghastly. There is no reason to ever have a 10+ hour wait with no doctor providing results to patients and discharging them from the ED. If you have any choice to be transferred or taken to another facility that would be my recommendation!!! All staff, nurses doctors, patient coordinators, custodial staff!!!! All should be fired!!!!! Including whomever oversees the ED function!!! Duke is not prestigious! They are a 3rd rate hospital parading around in false intelligence!!!!

The Surgeons are great as far as the night staff goes I was admitted by EMS They were the greatest (Jacob) for slight heart failure 5 hours they stuck me in a hallway, my oxygen ran out an alarm started beeping a so called nurse walked by the patient beside me asked what is that beeping the nurse answered I have no idea (REALLY) I whistled loudly to get some attention I couldn’t breathe my chest started hurting I told everyone who walked down the hall I can’t breathe and I have chest pains totally ignored I finally just disconnected myself called my wife and left I’d rather die at home than a hallway in the hospital

I appreciate the hard work the nurses and staff do for the patients. My son is here and has been treated for a trauma injury. I have not seen the orthopedic doctor from the surgical team yet. It is frustrating when you have questions and cannot get answers.

The ER is the problem for Duke… as I sit waiting for my 8th hour staff wonder around with seemingly nothing to do. It really is bad.
