Nasty place. Thank goodness my mom was only there for 10 days, but in that time they were awful!!!! She went there from the hospital, before she left the hospital there was a group of doctors that went over her charts and prescribed medication she needed (heart failure) one of the drugs was to help with water build up on her legs. The nurse on her unit (not sure if the doctor there said to or not, but never saw my mom first) changed her water pill from 40 mg to 20 mg without our consent. Her legs ballooned and sprung leaks, then we found out what they did, we had to fight with them to change it back.
Then I found her in a wheel chair in their kitchen saying they wouldn’t let her back in her room, her slipper was soaked with water from her leg, her pant leg was wet up to her knee and there was a puddle of water under her foot. She was freezing, had no way to ask anyone for help, I was furious! All this from her leg leaking, I asked the nurse why her dressing wasn’t changed and she said they only do it once a day. I told her obviously it needs to be done more often and I ended up changing the dressing myself.
The rooms are so small, especially if you have to share and the bathroom was disgusting. We pointed it out to them and they said they would clean it and nothing ever happened. There was something every day, thank goodness she was only there for 10 days, even that was too long.
