Your emergency department is the epitome of incompetence, and you have some outright liars in it, too. I was told that I was called for evaluation three times while there - horsepucks! I was listening attentively and didn't hear my name called once. People kept coming in with kids with the sniffles and weren't even triaged, just taken in right away. The was one lady therewith a bandaged arm who'd been waiting 9 hours and still hadn't been helped. Then an ambulance came in, and everything stopped. By this time, my leg felt like it was on fire, and I knew from the incompetence of the staff that I'd not be seen til at least noon next day, so I went home. And I couldn't even get some money for a taxi, because the only ATM in the place was broken. You will be overjoyed, I am sure, to know that the only way I will come to your nest of incompetence and prevarication, is unconscious in an ambulance. The emergency department is short-staffed, but I bet your paycheque doesn't notice.

Today I was helped on the day surgery ward and the nurse that helped me spoke perfect English and was an absolute gem. Her name was Lucy, and she went above and beyond to help me and make me feel comfortable. Thank you Dr. Adamo and your staff and especially Lucy for the great care received today. Keep up the outstanding work!

Egotistical French elitists who hate anglophones. Booking staff leave voicemails of date and time of appt but no means to contact them if you need to make a modification.

This is absolutely the worst hospital ever. My teenage son was confined to a room in ICU (typically known as the intensive care unit with specialized level of nursing) and not permitted to shower or go to the bathroom for 5 days as the nurses pretended they had to check, double check and triple check if he had a hospital acquired virus; seems like it should have been a simple matter of trusting the results. The nurses repeatedly threw a collection of empty cardboard bottles into the room for my son to pee in, and then failed to collect the bottles until I complained for hours to various nurses, staff, and administrators. The bottles kept leaking urine onto the floor because the nurses had not prepped them, and no cardboard container is meant to hold urine for 3 days.
The place is filled with petty and small-minded nurses and hospital workers that don’t speak English well, don’t listen, and don’t care. Doctors came into the room without introducing themselves, nurses kept forgetting to feed my son meals so I was left to find food for my son. Nurses left medical waste littering the room from blood draws and IVs and bodily waste. The nurses on the floor took over 1 1/2 hour lunch breaks leaving a huge gap in the day where no nurse was available to assist patients or their caregivers.
The hospital psychiatrist Dr ElAlami came into the room without introducing herself and spoke to my son privately, she then invited me back in and asked my son if he wanted a nice long stay in a mental institution. When my son said he wouldn’t like that, she gleefully said she was a psychiatrist and planned to go in front of a judge and have him committed because he had said no. I pointed out that this was not ethical and that she was bound to communicate transparently and without coercion. The psychiatrist did not have the faintest clue as to her professional obligations under the Quebec Code of Ethics of Physicians.
After I made repeat complaints to the hospital, I was told someone would get in touch with me. Instead, I didn’t hear back until I was advised that the hospital contacted DPJ (Child Protection Services) claiming I was neglecting my son because he had attempted suicide due to the stress of covid.
If calling child protection services on me wasn’t bad enough, the hospital also called me up trying to intimidate me into committing fraud, by insisting that I lie about my address in order to simplify their processing of paperwork. When I refused and pointed out that this was fraud, the hospital moved to extortion saying that they would send my son’s health care charges to me instead of processing them if I refused to lie about my address.
If your ambulance is routed here, insist that you are no longer ill. This is not a hospital, it is like something out of a One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. This hospital should be condemned, and the staff who take no concern for patient well-being should lose their licenses.

After reading some of the reviews, I had low expectations for the service. What makes it worse is that I don’t speak French. My experience was the opposite. I was treated very well by the staff. My radiologist was especially kind and responsive to my concerns. She went above and beyond to help me help me understand the whole situation about my hearing.
THANK YOU MELANIE POIRIER FOR YOUR PROFESSIONALISM AND KINDNESS!
