Triage nurses are the worst. No urgency. Don’t seem to care. If non life threatening go to a better hospital.

Went to Emerg today (Saturday) just after 8 am for a non life threatening issue. I did have to wait for a while which I should have because they triage patients. During my visit I dealt with about 6 staff, all of which were competent, professional and treated me with respect. Thank you all so much for the excellent care.

Arrived at emerg on Friday July 1 at 8.00pm for an infected root canal . One hour until triage – additional 5 hrs in waiting room – plus an additional 2 1/2 hours in exam room -spent approximately 5 min with dr. for treatment antibiotics and pain meds. Nine hours of waiting in pain is unacceptable.

The staff were great but the system is terrible and needs fixing immediately

Saw at least 6 patients leave without seeing a dr. after sever hours of waiting.some with babies.

    Apparently only one doctor working.

    NOT GOOD

Slow slow slow. The wait times are absolutely atrocious and they never have more than 1 doctor on

Was at Groves today with my friend. She has brain cancer and had fallen last night, hit her head and may have fractured her arm. Not to mention she was in severe pain all over from her fall. We waited for a couple of hours before I asked someone how much longer it was going to be. The triaged her at that point but we and about 5 others were still sitting there 5 hours later. This is disturbing behaviour for a health care facility. We finally left without ever being seen by anyone after 6 hours. Unfortunately my friend was too sick to stay at the hospital to wait to be treated! Huge waste of our tax money!
And the triage person was one of the most rude individuals I’ve ever come a cross. I think she needs to consider another field of work since this one would require at least a tiny bit of compassion.

Sat for over 6 hours in severe pain only to be seen my a nurse practitioner ( very unprofessional and rude) that would not give me any tests or referrals needed. Don't waste your time going to this hospital. They are awful !!

The New Groves is a well-run hospital. From triage to final consultation. Stays at non E.R. are usually quick. Of course depends on how many people arrive at the entrance for ailments. Same for the Emergency entrnace processing.

It's taken me a year to write about my experience. I was celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary at the Elora Mill when I had a terrible pain in my abdomen. I was rushed to Fergus hospital by wonderful paramedics, however I was in such a state I'm unable to recall the names of the two women paramedics who treated me. When I got to the ER the pain had subsided just a bit, but then came back full-force, worse than childbirth. I screamed in pain for 4 hours before an unbelievable rude doctor finally saw me, after my husband begged her to see me. I have never met a more uncaring, ignorant and cruel person in my entire life. She treated me like absolute garbage. Again, I was not in a position to take her information so that I could complain later, and the hospital does not make public the names of their doctors. My appendix had burst and even a few more minutes would likely have cost me my life. Despite the fact that they are a bran new hospital they don't do laparoscopic surgery. The surgeon was good but this is not acceptable. I later caught covid in hospital, and then pneumonia. This is a truly terrible place. AVOID THIS ER.

This hospital is a prime example of our terrible health care in Canada. Ridiculous wait times in the emerge. The OB floor treats patients like crap, they don't take proper care of newborn babies. So much wrong with this hospital.

I have used the emergency department 3 times in the last year and found the doctors and staff to be very helpful and concerned with my conditions. Thank you to this excellent staff.
