Remarkable place. From surgical staff to nursing staff, the quality of care is excellent. Communication pre op and post op is fluid, available. Post op nursing care is exceptional. Humane, 24/7 highly competent, professional, and
seamlessly thorough. If you need a transplant, this is the place. In a sea of medical dysfunction, this is an island of
    rare excellence.

Spent 4 hours on the phone with Hackensack Meridian Health/HUMC. Never experienced such incompetent service, especially from Urology Dept. They don’t care and if you complain, they just ell you to cancel your procedure!!!

The poorest nursing services ever encountered with an exception of the traveling nurses. Don’t come here but go to Valley Medical Center instead. Night and day, black and white, this place is old, dirty and racist. Do not come here unless for true emergencies. I have spent time at Hackensack Riverside in Red Bank. That is a class hospital, to include South Jersey Shore Hospital. Nurses here will ignore you when needed and classless when shift changes. One would think he or she is in a train station. Stay the he’ll away.

Hospital only orders tests to make money, not concerned about your health. Beware they will tell you they spoke with your insurance and you will only have to pay $35, and then the hospital sends you a bill for $1000.00, and then without discussing with you has a collection agency hound you.

My experience is very very bad with hospital for the visit charges. When I visit hospital for check up they told me that I do not need to pay out of pocket charges ss everything is covered in my insurance. After one month they sent a bill that is just reverse what they said. They charge every thing on me and not a single dollar contribution of my insurance company inspite of in-network hospital. They say something and do some things. Please be careful don't trust them. There charges are very high and can't affordable. They are not transparent for charging hospital bill.

I went under cataract surgery in HUMC. I am one of those common people who do not like any medical surgery, but in this case my experience was unexpectedly good. Of course, my special thanks to my doctor and I will dedicate him a separate review. Here I'd like to talk only about HUMC staff. I arrived at 5 o'clock in the morning, left the car in the garage, entered the elevator, went up to the designated floor and stepped on a perfectly adjusted conveyor, which delivered me after surgery 4 hours later to the exit from HUMC. Any car company would envy such a perfect assembly line. During this time many nurses and administrative workers gave me the necessary help, every second I felt that they knew exactly what they have to do and in what order they should do their work. Every medical worker was highly professional, polite and friendly. I had the surgery under general anesthesia and I'd like to leave my special thanks to the anesthesiologist, whose participation was very important (sorry that I do not remember his name). I had good experience with my visit in HUMC and I sure, that it is one of the best Medical Centers in NJ.

My mom had a massive brain stroke in Aug. She was rushed to Hackensack hospital and I genuinely speak form the truth that the experiece from the beginning till she left two weeks later was short of a nightmare. Emergency as far as im concerned was lacking in service and people skills, and attending of the patient with massive stroke. Day 2 she is sent to ICU where they verbally stated that due to the massive attack mom would not live longer then 2/3 days. I responded by telling them that only the creator knows that and they were responsible until she toolk her last breath to take care of her as if she were going to live. Not only did the staff behave in an unprofessional manner by not atttending to moms needs because in their eyes she was going to pass anyway. Family had to get head nurse in ICU and we threatend to sue the hospital if they did not give mom the same opporutnity as a patient who could live.Family had to bring to the attention of all nurses and doctors that mom would die if the did not give her nutrients and they finally put in feeding tube but only after we asked , again in their eyes she wasn't going to make it. A few days later, and this name will always stand out, a social worker Syvia in ICU, told the family that we were in denial because mom was not going to make it. She also stated taht now she has her feeding tube you need to find a rehab or nursing home within 24 hours. This woman should be given bed side manners, social and empathay and any other course necessary to be in that position. A family that is already in shock should never be exposed to that behavior. I could never say never, however I do no tknow what the future holds for our family but in case of emegency we would seek other hospital. Moving forward 2 months later mom is in an amazing rehab. Stratford in West Orange where she is talking , getting rehab and with the most amazing caring, professionsl staff.
