Dr. Duma and Hoag Hospital in Neport Beach, Ca are both top rated and very professional. I owe my life to both of them. I have been diagnosed with “sino nasal undifferentiated carcinoma” (SNUC) a very aggressive cancer with a high mortality rate. I have two craniotomies and two “gamma knife” procedures as well as two radiation sessions of 42 days each. In addition I also had 14 chemo treatments ( 7 with Carbon – platin) and 7 erbitux infusions to try and control this “monster”. My latest MRI showed no new tumors! I will have another in late June to verify that the procedures worked! My PET scan did not illuminate other areas in my body. This is a good sign!!! I have no illusion that this cancer will ultimately get me! So far so good!

Hoag has always provided excellent care in many ways whether hospitalized in cardiac unit, Icu, ER, OR, Nuclear Medicine…..the list goes on. I think every hospital has a few exceptions, including Hoag, such as having one nurse or doctor here or there who has a bad day or has seen too many patients. I had a terrible young nurse in ER one time that had no business treating actual human people. I had a cardiologist diagnose a pulmonary disorder when i was positive i had a cardiac event (heart attack). I had to convince this on call cardiologist he was wrong. once testing was done and my own cardiologist saw me the correct diagnosis was made. Hoag is phenominal in helping with people needing financial assistance. I believe this shows they truly care about their entire community and goes a long way in the compassion department.

My brother had major surgery- in addition to not knowing how to take a blood pressure , they are so short staffed(although there are 5-6 people milling about at the front desk) nursing staff does not get back with us. I've aske 2 Xs , early in the morning and early afternoon about PT. The PA came by stating he was getting OT and PT It's like pulling teeth getting the nurse to follow through. And we are on the spinal surgical ward I'm not impressed with hoag hospital.

Excellent Hospital - Greatest care I have ever received. Patient oriented, nurses on the floor came immediately on cardiac floor. Exceptional care received. Thank you to Physicians and Nurses.

This is a private owned hospital people.. Took one nurse in a rush to give my daughter Reglan cheap nausea med. If IV pushed to fast causes a diatonic reaction. She was 6 months pregnant with her first child. Over 20 Doctors filled her room to watch her suffer for 3 hours til she went into cardio arrest. Not one Doctor help her standing n watching from the ER to the ICU this was a learning experience for them. Remember I said private hospital. So until her OBGYN arrived & reversed the reactions with 50 milagrams of Benadryl. Results my grandson is now 10 who was born with a brain bleed, 5 months in NICU & he is Autism along with many mental disabilities. He will never be a normal & now suffers from being different & knowing it. My daughter results is endless medical care. Burn the sending unit to the brain to her heart. Along with many life time crisis of death upon her. This year along 2017 life support 4 times from that one day you watched n learned n let her life go. But Jesus entered that child n she stop screaming only to announce his arrival & made all those Dr. witnesses to his arrival to take my child n grandson to only give them back. I watch in horror as they done a clean sweep of her room. You know who you are. I hope to this day n to your last day you remember what God showed you was inhumane of two lives. I think of you all often as I strive to keep my daughter alive to this day. My grandson suffers everyday at your personal policy to not treat another Doctors patient even If the cost is death. The Lord placed me downstairs n I watched another patient suffer the same Faith. May God have Mercy On You All, for You need it to work for this hospital. I forgive you, but I don't forget you. 2007

My family's first time going to Hoag was in the 70's and we still go there. Very patient oriented. My grandchildren and great grandchild were born there. Hoag is always improving and adding something special just when I thought they were already the greatest hospital ever!
