My mother had a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and was in the locked ward where very few activities were provided. My mother’s cough was ignored, so I had to take her to a local medical clinic where they diagnosed her with lung cancer. She suffered greatly during her illness. i had to find an outside physician to prescribe her morphine to ease her breathlessness and pain. Despite a DNR order, a staff member resuscitated her. If they had let her pass then, she would not have had to suffer additional months of great suffering. Earlier on in her stay during a heat wave the Alzheimer’s ward was airless, doors and windows locked and no fans and inadequate air conditioning. Temps were extremely high. In the other part of the care facility, they had many fans and open doors to deal with the problem. I had to contact admin to complain. They finally added a couple of fans. When I complained to government, they said they had no power of oversight as it was a private facility. It was a tragic end for my mother and very traumatic for her children as we tried to advocate for her. I would not wish the care my mother received on anyone, Some the hands on care staff were extremely kind.

Horrible place! Staff are very overworked and rude! Residents are treated poorly by very impatient staff. No one ever oversees the work of the staff! Food sucks! No accountability for what happens to residents, and how they are ignored and mistreated!

Staff seem overworked, impatient, don’t feel my friend is safe there.

They overmedicate, don’t listen to families suggestions, food is slop, management are hard to find when a problem arises
