Went to ER with a broken wrist , waited 5 hours in excruciating pain , gave the same information to four different Admin. people before seeing a doctor …….. never offered so much as ice or anything to help with my wrist , Seem like very unmotivated staff who did not care or showed any empathy for people in obvious pain ….. horrendous experience

Took my daughter to the ER at 1:30 am. Waited 6 1/2 hrs. for a doctor to see her. Noticed that others were seen before her that were admitted after her – no heart attacks or such. Once seen by a doctor he was thorough, he ordered blood tests, urine tests and took blood pressure. She was sent home with an RX and told to contact her doctor for a follow-up appt. The hospital needs to bite the bullet and hire more staff and doctors for the ER department. It borders on cruelty and neglect for someone who is sick , in pain and anxious to wait 61/2 hrs to be seen.

Almost had wrong surgery performed (apparent file mix up) and sent home with NO after care instructions- spent 24 hours in complete agony and finally got help from pharmacist and on-line research

Rude nursing staff, would rather listen to music and chit chat at the station rather than help patients in need.

Had a EEG at The Joseph Brant, nurse in charge was just fabulous, lovely woman with fantastic bed-side manner. Kind, caring, overall a wonderful experience. With all the changes to the politics in this hospital they should take a note from her book and that of all the long term nurses and care givers.

I will never ever go to the emergency department again. They just don't care, they leave you waiting by yourself for at least eight hours without checking on you. never offering one thing, like food or even water. My friend just recently had surgery and fainted a week later, she was taken to the ER by ambulance and was left alone for eight hours without checking her diabetic status, offering her food or drink. Is this a hospital or a dumping ground? I was sent from my doctors office because she suspected I had had at least a mini stroke. I was forced to sit up in a hard chair from 4 PM till midnight without anyone checking on me or offering me even water. At 11 PM I was told to walk down to x-ray all by myself with no one in the hallways, I felt like I was going to pass out but they didn't care. I cried all the way home in the cab at midnight. Another friend had unbearable gallbladder pain and when he asked for a blanket the nurse said “this isn't a hotel, it's a hospital” and never gave him a blanket. And by the way their Wi-Fi is crap and you have to pay for it while they make you wait eight hours. I don't understand how this can be acceptable for so many decades.

I'm 65 and had my first surgery at age 10, I have a bone disease as a result I have had many surgeries in many different hospitals throughout my life . Joseph Brant by far is the worst hospital I've ever been in. Always short staff and that goes back to the 1980's nothing to do with pandemic. I was taken there once by ambulance with a life threatening acute pancreatitis attack. I was put in an ER room with door closed for over 5 hours. I finally crawled off of stretcher and crawled on belly out to the hallway, where I collapsed . An older doctor almost tripped on me. He was so disgusted that I had been so neglected. Immediately had me transferred for blood work- I was extremely close to death thanks to their negligence. After 4 weeks I was finally healthy “enough “ to go home. I have so many similar stories from this horrible place that calls itself a hospital. When I was younger my Dad gave me a $100 bill to tuck in the back of my wallet to pay for a taxi to a real hospital in Hamilton “in case I was in need of Emergency care”. That's pretty sad, but the truth. Nothing has changed I sat with my husband around the clock for 8 days while he was seriously ill with septic shock. At the end of the hall, nurses never checked on him- even with his machines beeping nonstop. Terrible place, I tell people “go to the new Oakville Hospital- amazing care!”So embarrassed to live in such a lovely city yet it doesn't have a decent hospital you can trust.

This hospital care about their patients. They are proactive, radiologists are phenomenal, breast cancer prevention center is one of the best, internal medicine, imaging, ER, even during Covid the ER gave amazing care when having to deal with hard cases and disturbing people. So proud to have this hospital in my City especially at this time. KUDOS Joseph Brant.
