This hospital staff is the most disrespectable and completely more obsessed with their cell phones the egos are incredible and completely incompetent who gave these people medical degrees I'm sure they are more interested in steal property and for able confinement of patients with ever having reason the nurse don't know how to give a iv the bruising was terrible nor do they know how to read a x-ray this hospital needs to be investigated for negligence

you really don’t want to be sick and have to use this hospital, absolutely no concern for the patient, it is all about how busy they are and how inconvienced they are to have to deal with eople

While an inpatient at the filthy dirty KELOWNA general hospital 2xs I was given wrong medication. Complaining of not feeling well each time. Later a nurse would come by explaining that she/he was too busy to go over my meds. with me when dropping them off. The nurse would say now your complaining of light headiness and unable to get around I checked your chart and see the Pharmacy dispensed the wrong medication and I’m sorry but it will wear off. $%#@!*&^<>$#^ What the heck !!!!! My blood pressure was high “to medical standards” ( thats one of the reasons I was there) . I was moved to 7, yes seven different areas to sleep. Moved each time I needed to use a nebulizer if the stretcher was in a public hallway or area that didn’t have wall oxygen. Asking the cleaning staff what type of disinfectants or anti viral solutions they were using on the floors ……I was told NONE. Those flat mops they swish around are changed for each room. Twice the blood pressure cuff that goes from person to person without being sanitized was dropped on the floor and the pleasant chatty nurse placed it on my arm and did her “job”. Yes I sanitized my arm after each reading. Kelowna hospital reuses its mouth pieces for the nebulizers and yes they end up on the floor. Each time I asked that the on the floor one THEY had dropped hooking it up please be replaced ,it was but never with an oops, apology (I’m the one that is in respiratory distress) or I’ll hurry back. Another evening, short of breath I thought I’ll try getting out of bed and pushing my wheel chair to the nurses station (this night I was actually in a bedroom). Being ignored for some time by the young nurse I finally blurted out my name room # and the need of the nebulizer(now really coughing). She did look threw a lot of paper work. Now informing me , I’d never had that drug administered to me while in Kelowna hospital. Coughing I now start saying yes ,describing nurses, the last time ,3-4Xs each day. She ignores me not examining me and sits down back to her paper work . I’m some upset, figuring well I guess all I can do is try to get down to emergency. Trying to get enough air and strength another nurse comes into the station and asks me whats up…I explain….she finds in another binder a copy of a doctors prescription order for me to purchase a nebulizer machine for home use the same day I was admitted. So with that I get one dose of medicine to help with my breathing. She also adds in that there is NO record of me being given this drug . In the morning its all OK everyone is smiling, Dr. says don’t worry it won’t happen again. Also our nurses are not over worked !!! Come sit on a chair in a halway and see how slow they move and the level of personal chatter of who’s doing what shift kids, xmas gifts ,what there not cooking for dinner, there is little they keep on a professional level. This was the tip of my negative hospital stay last NOVEMBER 2013. Maybe some people are too sick to realize the poor health care there receiving. I would gladly pay a lot more to be safe in our local hospital.
