I was admitted to kindred for wound care. I had been trying to heal from a panniculectomy that I had after gastric by-pass surgery and had lost 300lbs. Panniculus Panniculus, sometimes incorrectly referred to as pannus, is a medical term describing a dense layer of fatty tissue growth, consisting of subcutaneous fat in the lower abdominal area. It can be a result of obesity and can be mistaken for a tumor or hernia. Abdominal panniculus can be removed during abdominal panniculectomy, a type of abdominoplasty. A panniculus can also be the result of loose tissues after pregnancy or massive weight loss. I went to the B&W plastic surgeon that transferred to Faulkner and I became severely infected;; which then I was diagnosed with sepsis and almost died. Because of this infection I had to heal from the inside out. With a wonderful home nursing staff that vigorously treated my wound, I was still unable to heal... I was then admitted to Kindred Hospital where I was met with an incredible compassionate, understanding, and very experienced staff. Everyone-- All providers from being admitted to discharged. My wound which extended from my left , across my front, to my right that was treated for 3 years with extremely minimal results was completely healed in 4 - 5 months with O2 therapy. It was incredible and when my wound was being debrided, with the treatment plan for me, there was discomfort, not extreme pain, and my pain was managed incredibly well. I thank and accredit this Hospital for my total healing & saving my life as well. I have been to all of the so called top Hospitals for Treatment, Rehabilitation, & Recovery all over Massachusetts and ""NOT ONE"" came close to the quality of care that I received Here.. This is the Hospital to be at for after care,,,, I highly recommend and would trust them with my own children.

Kindred Stoughton is the best hospital I’ve ever stayed in. Everyone from the doctors to housekeeping were compasionate and kind to me. Loved Kristina the NP. I hope I don’t have to come back, but if I do I’ll request to come back to Kindred Stoughton.
