I had a very enjoyable experience in the Lakes District Hospital. Everyone, and I do mean all the staff were friendly, cheerful, respectful and a joy to have around. I did not run into one grumpy person in this hospital! They all seemed to go the extra mile for me and made my stay as more pleasant than I expected. Thank you to all of you!

I had a stroke and was not able to speak well or understand what was said to me. They discharged me the day after I had the stroke. I tried to explain that because I was brought in by emergency ambulance I had no money or credit card or debit card on me, home was 45 miles away, I had no way to get home. As I tried to explain my situation to the head nurse instead of trying to understand what I was trying to say she mocked me and talked back to me. I had a heplock in each arm and she wouldnt even let me tell her they would have to be removed before I could go anywhere. I was turned out on the street with only 1/2 a brain to work with, and with no means at all.
