I had a full knee replacement at LGH on July 6th. We want to thank everyone for the excellent care and experience. The 6th floor nursing staff were ALL exceptional, knowledgeable, skilled and caring. This little hospital is a unique one! THANK YOU.

I have had the great misfortune of being here a number of times. The worst was arriving with intense abdominal pain and being told “it’s just gas”, to which I know what gas feels like. They kept doing nothing and I swear just waiting for me to give up and leave them alone. I was in so much pain I had to lay on the floor, they saw this and did nothing. It was only due to my mother’s anger that they finally agreed to do a CT scan.

Well what do you know, they found several tumours in my lower intestines that would have potentially been there for some time growing larger had they decided not actually to do their job! I assume they thought I was there to get pain pills, something I believe they treat all patients like junkies out of laziness, incompetence or both.

After this, I transferred my care of the surgery and ALL followups to another hospital as I had no faith in Lions Gate being able to do something about it properly.

Friday 8 pm admitted in. 6 people after myself. Waiting 9 pm still waiting, still waiting 10 pm.
Seeing some of the 6 people after me seeing a Dr and going home. 11pm still waiting all the 6 people after me have come and gone. I left at 11:45 as the pain I was in was too much. Very much like the service my mother got jun/jul 2021. My mother had cancer and the Dr advised me that I was delaying the inevitable. Women next to us with her mom the Dr said your mother is dying, I felt really bad I could tell that she wasn’t expecting to hear that. I don’t want to hear from the hospital owner telling the sorry scripted rhetoric, and definitely don’t tell me to send this info to the quality whatever. Tell them to do their job and look at the damn reviews. My mother used to donate to lions gate, I told her to stop!

Just amazing, compassionate, professional, welcoming, accommodating staff. Extremly well organized check in, triage, and patient care. Myself, my mother and my sister had to use Lions Gate, each visit was flawless, from check in to running diagnostic exams, lab, x-ray, ECG each of us was in and out within 2 hours, but that is not all I personally received follow up phone call 2 days later from emergency MD to make sure I was doing OK. This is truly 5 star service. Thank you all who are making this happen

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to and I lived on the North Shore for 20 years. I’ve made it clear that I will never ever be a patient there again even if I’m in a car accident on the North Shore and cut in half I wouldn’t go to the hospital.. I had food poisoning like you wouldn’t believe and it took 29 hours to admit me I was laying in the waiting room waiting to get admitted for over a day. Another time I had pain so bad and I kept going in to emergency and they would just tell me that I had gas and to go home and then I had to have an emergency surgery in another small town . I had a friend that went into this hospital and she just needed a routine surgery and they messed it up so bad that they killed her. She was just supposed to get her tonsils out. The last time that I went to the hospital I can’t even talk about because it was so disturbing.!! Even one of the doctors quit after she saw what they did to me. Please think twice before ever bringing your family to this hospital.

Took 6 hours to get seen by a physician and took 4 hours to get the results of an XRAY. Ur sick coming and get out more sick, very hungry and mentally stressed because of the very very slow pace.

Tests result should come faster in the emergency but at Lionsgate, it comes very very late. Instead of resting more, u get stressed waiting waiting and waiting. It's not a first come first serve basis. It's case to case basis.(which I understand) but atleast be mindful of the time. Waiting for an XRAY RESULT is taking 5 hours OR more . Work through the list? What list?

I just spent 10 days in Lions Gate Hospital. I ate great food ( not Hawksworth, but tasty good, hot food ). I had terrific care and service. Catering came to ask what I wanted from the menu for that day. Nurses were all cheerful and caring. If I hadn't been discharged today, it wouldn't have been a hardship.
