The place is a hell hole. They knowingly put a covid patient in my room with me and now I can't go home for Christmas on a day pass because I now have it. This place should've been condemned years ago! I agree with all of the negative reviews! If you care about the well being of yourself and your loved ones…avoid McCall like the plague ( which you could probably also get here , given the incompetence level of the staff! )

It feels a lot like purgatory being here in this tormenting facility. The walls feel like they are closing in on me, inside this lonely small room with bed sores, no television or connection to the outside world. What did I do to deserve this? is this what prison life feels like? My sense of smell is acute to the smell of rot and feces lurking under the blankets, I fear the vermins will take to realization where their favourite aroma is calling out from.

My husband was at the McCall Centre from February 7 to April 18 when he was transferred to Trillium Hospital due to being diagnosed with COVID 19. Not only did he leave the McCall Centre due to COVID but also and I was never informed About this with 3 stage 3 bedsores. on their website the following is what McCall writes about their services. “our goal is to provide high quality care, recognizing that each patient or resident is a unique individual with his or her own needs. Working together with family and friends we encourage active participation in the care of patients. It goes on to say that “The McCall Centre is committed to providing care through skilled nursing and medical supervision with empathy, courtesy, respect and dignity.“ It says “ our patients, residents, their families and friends are of KEY importance at the McCall Centre. I can go on and on about the care my husband received which was sub-par especially since he came out with 3 stage 3 bed sores and one of them developed into osteomyelitis. If the care was so terrific this would have never happened. Bedsores come from neglect and bad care. I would think twice before sending g a loved one there. communications is non-existent. PSWs are overworked and are rude and easily say I’m too busy to help you. It was a horrible experience. my husband is worse off then when he was admitted to McCall.

I fell and broke my hip, fractured my arm and dislocated my shoulder. Thank you to everyone who worked on the 3rd floor. My gratitude to every PSW, Nurse, Maintenance Worker, Cleaner, Physiotherapist and Doctor. I am home now and you all contributed to getting me back on my feet again. I plan to never need to be a patient again. I noticed your many generous and kind attentions. I also noticed your excellent teamwork and your ability to laugh thru the hard work. I wish you all well.
Pat, Rm.320, Bed 4.

There is a staff member at the Mccall Centre who was hiding my father’s call bell. This PSW told another patient, a young 40 something woman, that they hide my father’s call bell at night because he is and I quote, “annoying”. So…as far as I am concerned hiding a patient’s call bell – especially when it belongs to a completely blind person who is bedridden and dying of lung cancer is outrageous, it is violent and had my dad died as a result of being without his call bell, well…sounds like a murder charge to me. This place has a maniac working there and I have a witness and this complaint will not rest.
