I’m going to address the EMERGENCY dept in this hospital. Coming to emergency is always an anxious experience, This staff needs extra training to compassionately deal with patients in trauma. The general feeling is you are an irritation to whatever they happen to be doing when you show up at the emergency glass door. They will leave you standing there looking in while they mill about doing more important tasks than asking what your emergency is. ‘Go and take a seat in the waiting room’ is a sentence I don’t care to hear again as it is a freezing icebox for you to get forgotton in for hours and hours. Please don’t tell me how over worked everyone is,…..If you choose this field, you are aware of the stress associated with dealing with sick people. …Even if the beds are full right now,..they need to know they will be looked after in a compassionate way…This emergency feels like a ship with no captain. At least if you die in the waiting room your corpse will be preserved in ice.

My father went to this hospital and was very sick and sat there for 4 hours with no one checking up on him before walking out. People were going in that came in after him and when asked why his turn was taking so long he was told that other people were more of a priority. There was a language barrier but the lack of care and checkups given was truly sad. I went as far as to complain hoping they improve their care in the future. The nurses at the front desk were rude and treated my father as if nothing was wrong. I am writing this in hopes that someone reads this and takes some sort of action to improve the care they provide to their patients.

I waited for over 3 1/2 hrs and was never seen by a doctor. I was never checked on once while I was waiting. I was never told how long my wait was going to be. I ended up using the washroom in emergency and found bloody bandages stuck to the towel dispenser. When I left there was 3 nurses and the doctor standing around the main counter. I will drive to Kamloops or Kelowna if I need to go to emergency again

I went there for something minor and they were really busy with accidents from the highway. They still managed to squeeze me in. Great job for such a busy place and few staff!

First class care from highly trained doctors and nurses, they are a well oiled machine and I would not hesitate to take any of my loved ones there for treatment, the services are first class.

Quick care, attentive nursing, super friendly and informative docs. I was in and out quickly and was thoroughly impressed with everything from onboarding to warmed blankets and rapid x-rays and results. I barely had time between stop ins to update my boss and emergency contacts. Well done!
