Having had a cycling accident on Waiheke I was first taken to Auckland hospital then Northshore where I was on ward 9. I received excellent care from all the staff, food was nice and my three days there have shown me how good nhs care can be. As a senior nurse in the UK I was very impressed. I am now slowly recovering with my family, before returning back to the UK. Thank you Northshore hospital

Had to go into nthshore hospital (emergency department) a week ago. How lucky are we to have this world class place to go to when we’re sick. Thanks to all staff for a top service. Ray Knowles

Fantastic caring staff from emergency department to ward 7 where I eventually ended up. Everyone was kind smiley and helpful. Loved the cups of tea. Always looked forward to that. So in ward 7 meals were tasty , hot, looked good on plate and most of them were yummy. Portion was also good. Very happy with all the care I received.Well done and thankuNorth Shore Hospital

1 star on service, partner had to wait for 8hrs and counting. This could be possible very serious matter and isn’t being treated accordingly, have had 4 blood tests and is still waiting on a MRI scan, they have not even booked the MRI and has made her wait with no clear communication or updates on the matter. 13-02-2024

    Hello
I would like to understand the. Hospital rules for HDU.
The situation is this my mother is very sick and is in HDU. I have a disabled son who was with me when we visited my mother it was fine for ten minutes then a nurse came up to us and asked us to leave as he was Not wearing a mask but had the health ministry exception card saying he didn’t have to wear a mask. At the sometime as this was happening there was a baby in HDU I personally think that they should not be allowed in . My mother in immunity comprised too.
I don’t mind being told to leave but the rules need to be clearer for disabled teenagers and our. son is 16. What a saga .. I

Had a long wait for medical attention but was made comfortable in the corridor. The doctors, nurses, St John staff and administrators were always friendly, though under considerable pressure with workload and difficult patients. Mine was a good experience and outcome.

Boxing Day eyesight issues. Into Shore Care and seen within 10mins (eye issues given priority). Examination revealed serious issue and was promptly told to proceed to Greenlane for more extensive evaluation. Fast, efficient and friendly staff gave me confidence in the system.

Got to be the worst place ever. Sitting and waiting for almost 9hrs for a doctor to see you for chest pain. Nobody tells you what's going on. You see patients come in after you but get seen to first. You try be very respectful because you know they are busy. But 9hrs and counting. ............ Patients here before me waiting for 11 hrs. What is going on?!?!

Yet another visit to A&E today. I just want to thank everyone there. You are amazing in such a pressure cooker environment. You deal with everything so professionally and caring. So grateful.

I had surgery and was in North Shore Cullen Ward for three weeks in June 2023. Am very impressed by the excellent care by nurses and doctors. Nothing was too much trouble and the few concerns were very quickly attended to. I was given excellent advice from the caring nurses in this ward, and I continue to have excellent after care by our District Nurses and Physiotherapists. Well done NZ Health Service.
