I just had a total knee replacement at Ocean Springs Hospital my doctor winners. Having been an inpatient for 3 days recovering from my surgery, the staff on to Northwest was outstanding. The physical therapist the came in got me up and walking was very knowledgeable very caring and very patient. The nursing staff was very knowledgeable of my recovery and any time I rang the buzzer for my nurse within 2 minutes a nurse was at my bedside. I highly recommend Ocean Springs Hospital for all your medical needs.

I agree with lack of communication,I was there for some time(almost 4weeks) with my mother,Last week was in SICU some nurses were caring, some werent as they should have been, and nurse shift change I found to be overrated!! For some they truly accessed the patient for a couple it waa when they could to them. I should have addressed patient advocate!!also be aware of sedatives for anxiety,I feel it was used when not necessary/but I dont know thst for sure/being there for as long as I was,I observed and learned alot!! The one nurse that sunday morning we left the hospital, really got to me,There was just something abt her😡Also if there is a situation where you plan on doing hospice make sure the patient will have meds on hand before you leave, make sure your pharmicist is open! We truly had a very sad situation with filling meds, luckily store ipen 24hour,mind you this is on a sunday,we werent informed thru the hospice(deaconess)that we would need to worry abt getting meds filled only that they dont do certain med,
My mother wasnt able to swallow pills, very ill,if it werent for the morphine and anxiety med in liquid my mother would have died in pain
She had 3 heart meds she was to take she had been prescibed 2 pill form the other was for injection she had neither to take and passed away, she wasnt home 24 hours mind you she was very ill but I fill if she had correct meds we could have had another day or 2. We will never know🙏🏻

Complete lack of communication between hospital staff, doctors and patients. I was made to feel as though I was inconveniencing the nurses whenever I asked a question. Each concern I had was answered with “Oh, that is someone elses responsibility” but I was not told whose responsibility it was and they never notified anyone else. Awful experience. It certainly left me feeling very bad about health care here in Ocean Springs.

Was in for a broken hip. I was yelled at. Moved me , prior to and after surgery, like I was a sack of sand. No excuse bring I only weighted 119 pounds. I was told to eat, then yelling at me to stop moving my arm with the iv. I've never been treated so badly in my life.

Understaffed. My arm was butchered putting in the IV. Add to leave before I can ever get my test results. Then they want him to do their job for them and go online for results.

Overall, I would say it's a fairly good hospital but the ER doctors have now given me 3 differing opinions & treatment plans. I did like the in-hospital physician, who took the time to listen & make good treatment suggestions for me. Adm. staff was outstanding, too.
