Doctors affiliated here were amazing, and several nurses were great. But the maternity ward was FILTHY, the rooms were very uncomfortable, the food is insulting (this is what you feed new moms???), and many of the staff were unpleasant. I do not understand how this hospital is rated highly.

Our ED visit was horrific! They made several errors in sending us home and, when we filed an official complaint, they said things had been done which hadn’t been. They only apologized for our “stress”, not for making my husband’s situation significantly worse and leaving me to deal with a totally incapacitated man, alone, at 2:30 am! Worst night of our lives, and we’re in our 60’s.

STAFFFFF SUCKKKKK , takes FOREVER FOR DOCTOR TO SEE YOU BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE 1 Doctor for all children !!! TakeS a hour just to print out discharge papers. Ive been here previously and was sent home with my daughter with croup cough and was sent home with nothing which led to her having pneumonia. Terrible terrible TERRIBLE

Dirty. Doctors seem fine. Facility is poor. Waited 3 hours to be discharged after dr okayed discharge. Not a teaching hospital!!

What a terrible place. The nursing staff lacks common decency and treats patients like cattle. The entire staff was much more preoccupied with avoiding readmission (which hurts their statistsics) and, ultimately, with potentially having a reportable death. They wanted to send our loved one home or suggested hospice. One nurse told us we needed to let him go. because he obviously wanted to die. I wasn’t aware they taught telepathy at nursing school. The doctors and nurses were not interested in treating him since he was old. They, in their infinite wisdom, determined he had lived long enough. DO NOT take a loved one here. They will not get receive respectable care.

My son had surgery today. He spent 4 hours in recovery before I could see him. There was no room for him 7 hours after surgery and no nourishment was offered until I called to complain and threaten to bring it myself. I would have rather brought him home where he would have received better care and treatment. Will never come back to this hospital again for anything. They suck!!!!!

I agree with the previous post that said being at Overlook Hospital is like being treated in a third world country. The doctors and staff (both Clinical and non-clinical) are horrendous. My elderly family member was abused by the staff. The orthopedists that are on staff will do unnecessary procedures for a "money grab". Do not let your loved ones go here.

I will never step foot in Overlook Hospital again. After 10 hours in the ER, with no lab results and rude, incompetent nurses, we left. I wouldn't go back there for a splinter.

don't recommend the crisis unit. let alone the whole hospital. they'll send you to summit oaks or carrier (or somewhere far worse) which both are beyond awful. because once you get in chances are you wont be getting out only way is if you go to a psych ward. and the life coach Ayasha Roberson is bad. the one who works in the psych unit she charged close to 400$ an hour.. even more than that sometimes. she dropped me a few days ago. with no support system at all, no recommendations, etc.. just an email saying goodbye.. no closure at all?? nothing. all because I was making slow progress.. don't waste your time with her, trust me. and to add onto this review. I also went here in 2019 of december throwing up nauseous with back and chest pain, waiting in the er. the front desk lady was mean as all hell. telling my mom that theirs other patients here that are worse than me. finally tho got checked after how many hours? they said I was just sick from meds and to go home. had to go to morristown the next day couldn't take the pain anymore. turned out it was pancreatitis, gallstones, and pneumonia. I was 13 at the time.
