I absolutely love my Dr, she accepted me as a patient when I went to a drop in, even tho they weren't accepting new clients. She has been very informative and helpful for the passed 2 1/2yrs, even calls to check in when I'm doing a meds change or increase. The office is what you'd expect considering the area, but staff are always busy and have always been great and non judgemental to myself and others I've witnessed.

My doctor has never been on time for an appt. Sometimes staff leaves me waiting without telling me she’s not even in the building. No appologies of course. People should never be considered second class human beings but I sure do feel that way here. On top of that, my foctor has created more serious health issues than she has resolved. I’m gone!

I had very bad experience with Pender Community Health Centre.
My surgeon referred me to the centre for “JP drain care per protocol” after my surgery. Soon after my discharge from VGH I was contacted by nurse Britney and explained her that I would need my JP drains removed in few days and booked an appointment at the centre.
When I visited the centre, another nurse, Carla, refused to remove my drains, saying that the referral they’ve got from VGH is not enough. They need my doctor order to proceed with the drain removal.
My appointment was on Friday afternoon, and I wasn’t able to reach my surgeon by phone, to get the papers straight. I notified Carla that It would be dangerous to postpone my drains removal till Monday. Nevertheless, she kept refusing removing my drains.
Britney was at the centre at the time of my appointment, but didn’t bother to help me either. She even didn’t apologize for the trouble she caused. If she checked before booking my appointment whether my papers were correct, I wouldn’t have this problem.
I ended up looking for someone else to remove my drain. Fortunately, the kind doctor at walk-in clinic was able to help me.
I wish Pender Community Health Centre staff was taking their duties more seriously. If I could give the center 0 starts, I would.

Pender clinic is a awesome clinic. The staff are very nonjudgmental and friendly. They will bend over backwards to help people.
