The ER is a danger to patients. Dr Gracia is a menacing physician to : avoid at any and all costs. The surgical area ( Kempe tower) is pretty nice.

Have always had pleasant experiences with my trips to PRH. Staff always treated me with respectability as did the physicians

I just had a Direct Anterior hip replacement yesterday Nov 17, 2023 at Penticton hospital led by outstanding surgeon Dr. Cameron Taylor. I cannot express how impressed and satisfied I was with every aspect of my treatment there. Right from the registration through to my discharge, every individual in that hospital that worked with me was knowledgeable, professional, proficient and very caring. Nurses in every department that looked after me were super! Surgical team was outstanding and my physio therapist most knowledgeable and empathetic. I want to express my thanks to all of you that did such a great job for me. You have a superior team there in every respect and PRH should be proud of the job that all of you do.

I went to the penticton emergency department on Tuesday the 3rd. I had had an episode of unconsciousness for about 4-5 mins on the Sunday the 1st. I told them I was concerned about my health, was it a stroke or a heart attack or a seizure. I waited for over 3 hrs. No one offered me a blanket or Kleenex, yet could see I was clearly upset and cold. A kid that had been in a fight at school was tended too by 3 nurses and a dr for his sore thumb, while I waited and waited to be seen. I'm 46 yrs old and left to have a panic attack. I felt unseen unheard and uncared for. Shame on all of you, Penticton hospital. You should be ashamed of yourselves, chatting about going for drinks after work while u leave people to possibly die, alone and cold.

PRH sped the death of both of my elderly parents within the last nine years through incompetence and negligence. This may sound harsh but in both instances Dr.s apologized for the care they received. The most recent parent who passed is under reviewed by the Province.
It was our experience that staff for the most part do not listen to patients or family. Once in hospital there is no system of control or accountability for patient care. A single Dr is never overseeing care for an individual, ultimately everyone is in charge but no one is accountable. In our family’s case(s) the results are clear and undeniable.

Many rude people at this hospital. Some of those people have zero empathy for patients and the public. The volunteers do a better job.

I had I be transported to Penticton hospital as I had sever pain inn my left hip and left knee. I had no feeling on my left thigh and was immobile as a result.
The ambulance staff were exellent, they had to remove my from my home where I was laying on the floor due to the sever pain
Once I arrived at ER I was interviewed by the attending physician Dr.S. He later down to law of the land telling me that they did not monitor or treat pain, but only âlive threatening illnessesâ and if it was not life threatening I would be discharged to the care of my GP
I arrived to my bed at just after noon and was monitored by a nurse who took my vitals and then left. The doctor arrived a couple times that day to examine me further. I was given an opioid pain killer and let me sleep until later after shift change when I saw another nurse when again checked vitals. I was given no food that day
The next day I saw another Dr who was intent on getting me onto a ward
After shift change in the morning a new âheadâ nurse was on shift She was not as accommodating. She complained to me about not eating but would not let me tell her that I was not given a meal, and when I was given breakfast that day I couldn’t reach it due to my immobility. She then went on to berate me by telling me I couldn’t remain in the hospital. I told her that I was waiting for a ward ad an MRI. She told me that would be a waste of hospital resources
Unfortunately she got my goat and I told her that I could get better care at home. She then encouraged me to call my partner to come and pick me up and scolded me for taking a needed hospital bed. She then ordered her nurse assistant to clean out my cubical and clean the bed
I had a walker but could barely move. I had to find my way to the waiting room without assistance, and there I layer on the floor awaiting my partner. When she arrived security found my laying on the floor and were going to remove me from the hospital
My partner did care for me and seeing that my mobility was so poor I had to lay on the floor until the situation started to wain.
I did receive much better treatment at home. I was visited by the hospital rehab assistance who were wonderful. They provided me with a number of mobility options
After receiving the MRI I had been awaiting when in emerg it was found I had 3 ruptured disks in my back and one of them was putting pressure on the nerve bundle to my lower left extremities
I main complaint is regarding this nurse who bullied me out of staying in hospital. I certainly needed hospitalization, but maybe since I wasn’t a covid patient ( and was triple vaccinated) maybe she felt I did not deserve the same level of care
In future I will probably go to another hospital, even though that 1% of poor staff will also ease their raged heads
