Pine Rivers is, overall, a very good psychiatric facility. People's experiences will differ according to their doctor but the nursing staff are friendly and committed as are the psychologists who run the group programs, of which there is a good choice. I did find the nursing staff of Unit 2 somewhat better than Unit 1, they are just that bit more enthusiastic and caring. It is about 50% single rooms, 50% twin share so you have a very good chance of getting a private room if you want one, even if you have a couple of days wait and they really try to accommodate. The food is a bit on the fatty side - sort of comfort food but there are healthy options, salad bar and cold meats at every meal. The only weird thing is that they lock the front sliding doors and you have to get a pass from nursing to get out if your doctor has granted you leave. There is no drama getting the pass and getting out though. Nice and spacious and modern. I would recommend it - a great facility!

Saw nurses give medication over multiple times of day and over several days given with NO patient detail label (or even handwritten ) affixed to medication chart , so could have been anyones medication chart !, giving out meds with no adverse reactions recorded on med chart
